What have you done to your car today?

Yup. Proper piece of crap design. One of the coolant hoses sits against the gear linkage. Every time you change gear...it rubs. Eventually worn through.

I feel like its not meant to do that... Gear linkage bushing/s worn out or something?

Done a few bits to my Accord 2.4l not necessarily today but over a week or so. Owned for 1 year and on 117k miles and running like a dream touches wood.

New tyres - Falken Zeix 914 - 225/45/18
Engine oil and filter - Fuchs Pro S 5w40 oil. Hamp filter - Decided to swap the sump bolt for a new genuine Honda and crush washer.
Gear box oil. 2l of Honda MTF3 new genuine Honda crush washers
Js Racing oil cap becuase why not need the jdm goodness.
Skunk2 weighted gear knob with new leather surround
Cleaned up the whole exhuast and back boxes
Fed all the door rubbers with Auto Finesse Revive.

Had to be something German, and I am aware of certain generations of Porsches destroying coolant hoses (sometimes requiring dropping the engine!) so hedged my bets.

That truly is garbage. Is it worth wrapping in a sacrifical layer of something?

Took a deposit on it.

Sad times. Took a long time and plenty of timewasters but I knew someone would come along eventually.

A 22 year old goldy orange Volvo estate is a very niche car to try and sell for £5K~ but I truly believed that with all the work I had put into it it was one of the best examples in the country, and the buyer agreed.

Took an offer I was happy with, and it is off to live with an E36 328i Touring, an Audi Coupé, an SL500, and a few other bits and bobs!

Now just babysitting it until the 24th when he comes back to collect it.

Every now and then I post in one of these popular motors threads, and the thread dies for 3 - 5 days and I feel like I've somehow killed it. :p

One picked up from the garage (jag) one dropped off(Vivaro)

jag just in for a service and MOT Vivaro going in for first mot and service and brakes so nothing exciting.

making plans to ditch the company car after confirming no one gives a monkeys what I drive as long as theirs business insurance in place.

que spending an afternoon deliberating on what to use for work. One of the current cars and pocket the cash every month or bring the one of the Omegas out of storage and use it as a daily. Ticks all the boxes modern enough to be reliable whilst having all the wanted creature comforts. Air con cruise and retrofitted Bluetooth and I’m happy.

Ordered some tyres for the Focus - going to try the new Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance 2 (as not a huge choice of "good" tyres in my size 215/55R16).

Currently has Dunlop Bluresponse which are the "sportiest" thing I have found in this size (due to a stiffer sidewall), but wet grip as others have mentioned is probably not as good as it could be.

Interested to hear your thoughts. The old one was excellent for grip and even more excellent for longevity, but they were soft and baloony.

Not getting them fitted until Tuesday, but will definitely feed back.

Hopefully they should be better than the old one if the marketing is to be believed:
"The Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance 2 has been designed to feature three large ribs in the middle of the tread pattern. As a result, the overall stiffness of the tyre will improve and enhance the overall cornering stability in dry conditions."

I've had a few different tyres (Conti PremiumContact, Michelin Primacy) in this size, but the Bluresponse were the best so far - everything in this size looks soft and baloony, but the Dunlops at least felt good :)

Conti's wear too fast, I've only ever used the Primacy 3 UHP but I found them to be shockingly bad in the wet and average in the dry, never tried Dunlops!!

Worst I ever had was some p zeros that I got 5k out of.

I think most Pirellis are pretty awful in most regards. I had PZero Nero's, it was like driving on ditchfinders half the time. Not a fan. Changed to PS3's, night and day difference.

Indeed. Outside of very special editions of P Zeros (think the stuff they put on high-end exotica), I find that they are garbage, poor wearing and yet somehow not as much grip on offer as similarly targeted tyres from the likes of Michelin.

I love the Michelin PSS on the TT. The P Zeros on the S3 are about due and they've covered 11054 miles.
