What have you done to your car today?

Sold Primera, bought another turdburger.

You wouldn't believe the interest I had in the Primera either. Because I didn't. Gee whizo.

Some bloke is driving 3 hours to get it to re-shell his car which is actually rotten unlike mine. :p

Offered me more than my asking price and told me to keep my spare set of wheels, head unit, etc.

Today I drove to Winchester Services.

I was meant to be going to Kent but the coolant dash light came on half a mile ahead of the services. Very odd as the coolant has been refreshed about 100 miles ago when a new thermostat went on and I had an inspection 2 done! I let it cool and open the filler cap and there is nothing in there let alone the stick thing being on low, it was just resting on the bottom of the filler pipe. Lots of splashes of coolant all over that quarter of the engine bay.

RAC man turns up an hour later and it's magically full to the top of coolant! The dash light is on still but the thermostat was sticking to 90c and no coolant splashing out anywhere. He was happy for me to drive to my local garage back in Southampton and they had a proper look and said the bleed nipple broke and was opening closing, changing the pressure etc all the time upsetting the sensor. Got that fixed in about 30 mins.

I'm going to Kent tomorrow!

Just went out to investigate why I had a "stop lamp fault" message and an inoperative centre brake light last night. Fault message has disappeared and brake light is now operative.

OK then.

Cold and damp lately. Could some moisture have got into the unit? Or is it mounted internally?

You have to remove the inner boot trim and then push the light out from the tailgate that way, so it's a possibility.

I'm assuming it was otherwise something like a very intermittent loose connection or voltage surge of some sort that tripped the bulb warning which, I believe, uses the BCM to disable the light in question until the car is restarted. I'll worry about it if it happens again :D

My dog was in the boot at the time. I'll blame her.
