Had someone reverse into my pickup today... the one time it would have been nice if they weren't honest because it was parked unattended at the time and there is zero indication on the vehicle itself cosmetic or mechanical, not a scratch, nothing moved a millimetre so wouldn't have even known while it has pushed their boot lid in a fair bit - fortunately the softest bit of theirs hit the hardest bit of mine - sucks for them though. Still gonna have to report it to my insurance company which no doubt will end up costing me
I'd even taken the time to park in a nice big bay out the way - but it was a new driver apparently only passed their test last week.
So the car dropped its coolant and upon inspection turned out a pipe had burst at the back of the engine feeding the cooling system. Long story short the head gasket needed replacing so engine has been out of the car getting the head skimmed etc.Parked up and some curious onlookers pointed to the car at which I gave a casual "Yeah its different"
Turns out it had ****** itself of all its coolant so had to get it recovered

Hope its not too bad and just a hose has popped off or something along those lines. Was due to go in for some maintenance work anyway so lets see what happens.
Get a carbon steel saucepan - it'll have red streaks by the time it's dry after washing up, unless you hand dry it.Was quite surprised at how quickly brake discs seem to get surface rust. I changed the rear discs and pads on my wife's X3 a couple of weeks ago and they had this light dusting of surface rust after being out in fine rain for only a few minutes:

I've left the discs outside until I get to the tip and was surprised to see that only a week or so later they look like this:

They look like they've been out in the elements for years, not days.
