Got the oil analysed. for the sake of £40 i thought it was worth it. anyone with an idea what could cause the fuel dilution?! otherwise it looks decent in my noneducational view
Ah, that would make sense as it's running pig rich, seems to be a feature of these and well doesn't do the most of miles...Fuel dilution is usually lots of short journeys , or running excessively rich without the oil getting hot enough to evaporate the fuel off
I have a similar (perhaps worse?) fuel dilution issue with the E30.
But... I don't actually know how to lean out a fuel injected car??
It may also be that the injectors are questionable, I do intend to replace them at some point.
E30 would be K-Jet so adjusting fuelling on them isn't completely removed from the methods of tuning a engine with a Carb. There's lot's of information floating around online on how Kjet works
Its Motronic 1.3, as its a later model.
When you say “wait with your car” do you mean wait in the reception, or have your head over the technicians shoulder whilst he’s working on it?
usually because your car isnt going to be worked on first , you drop it off and they carry on with another customers etc.Why do garages get funny with you when you say you want to "wait with the car" when the work is done
I do trust the garage but i also want to ensure that this particular piece of work is done to standards.
usually because your car isnt going to be worked on first , you drop it off and they carry on with another customers etc.
if you say you want to wait they have to either drop what they are doing or have you hanging around .
often had customers doing it and then getting upset about lack of work on there vehicles, wasnt that we didnt want to work on them but sometimes other vehicles have to be finished or were there before.
got a friend who always would say but you booked me in so mine comes first...sorry life isnt perfect.
if i had had a pound for every day a customer turned up on time/on the same day/week/month i would be rich. too many people dont turn up and workshops cant run on thin air.
oops sorry rant.
if you trust the garage, why do you think the work will be substandard??
Where was it leaking from that would cost £1000 to fix at an indie? Thats an engine out of the car sort of price.
