It'll be fine I'm sure!

Also I will need new rear pads soon as they're on about 25% left, granted rear M3 pads last a lifetime, last pad change was in 2015. PFC Z Rated rear pads are £125 + postage today which is more than I paid for a full set back in 2015 (£186 for front and back).

Changed oil in the good 'ol Skoda, went from millers to mannol, engine seems to be quieter and smoother. Millers has seemed to evaporate, happened in the BMW too, no leaks in either cars... After doing a bit of digging, I'm not the only one who had this issue, strange.

That's on my to do list this week, noticed Skoda dealers sell the quantum at a reasonable price but I use Castrol edge long life in mine and a main dealer filter
Edit, I don't do the long life schedule

I do 5-6k intervals in daily driven cars, anything that gets spirited driving is 1.5-2k intervals.

The Skoda I did an oil change sooner, after seeing the oil level dropped in the BMW, I checked the Skoda and it also dropped...

How much is quantum at the dealership?

I don't think Quantum meets the 505.01 spec, the PD engines cams are quite sensitive to what oil you use. I doubt it would be noticeable during my ownership, but might as well stick to manufactures recommendations.

The cams can wear away with the wrong oil

tbh haven't tried the quantum as mine seems to like the castrol so i cant say how good it is , its just with vw/ skoda garages stocking it got me interested
i think this is the quantum with your spec

Ceramic coated the 350Z today then went out for a blast with the daughter top down over to Betswy then over to Llangollen and over Horse Shoe... ahhh what a nice day!

Quantum platinum plus meets 505.01 and is recommended for PDs

Leant this the expensive way. After 50k miles of servicing my old PD Jetta with Shell Helix ultra 3 out of 4 intake lobes were round and wore through the lifters

True, double the price I paid for Mannol. :p

Seeing as I average around 3-4k miles a year, I doubt it would affect me. However, as I've mechanical sympathy, even my £500 S... Boxes get a full service. Especially when Oil is £20, Oil Filter £3-£4 and it doesn't take longer than 30 minutes.

Seems like your sorted with the Mannol, I have the dreaded 1.6 TDI so have to use the 507 is it , spec, I am a bit picky with oil filters as I've had some from eBay feel flimsy and.nowhere near dealer standard,.( If anyone knows who supplies them ?) I know back in the day some had a non return valve that wasn't present in cheap filters

Rear brake pads are coming close to triggering the pad wear sensor, so before that happens I'm gonna change the pads this weekend. Going for PFC Z Rated again as they're so good and produce so little dust. The last pair I fitted back in 2015 and the car was at around 80k miles then, now on 151k - Tremendous longevity from these. The fronts got me 44k miles for reference and that was including a track day and NC500 hoon-around.

£137 for the rear pads now though, way more expensive than the last time i bought them at around £70 lol.

I get Ridex filters from AutoDoc for my bangers, haven't had an issue yet.

It'll either be Mann, Bosch or Mahle.

Been a total biff with the RS6 and tried to code in a few extra things to cars Instrument cluster which don't get added as standard (add needle sweep on start etc) and ended up resetting the cluster to a LHD German cluster (open RH drivers door, LH door shows open, MPG gone and replaced with L/100km etc) and, as I didn't note down my original code (because I'm a biff) meant I ended up using the RS forum to help me recode it back to UK standard.

I'll just leave stuff alone from now on I think!

If the sensors are 9 years old you may find they'll crumble when manoeuvring them to replace pads. Best just get new sensors.
