What have you done to your car today?

Expensive day actually, just had to sort the other halfs too. Still slightly cheaper than you insuring the poodle groomer by a tad and that's with 25k miles + business use on her policy plus a non-fault total loss claim

Who is she insured with? Her profile isn't too different to mine, though I don't have any total loss claims.

So today I didn't get my Civic back (STILL) from the suspension saga... it's a good friends garage who is doing this but I usually don't use friends who are mechanics for such stuff as I've had fall outs before.

Alas his garage has expanded too quickly into a huge unit and I just get the feeling he's flogging a dead horse with some of his newer staff. Got a call on Sat from one of his minions saying the car was done and the bill was £300 (initially for the work I wanted it was £84!!) so I told them I'll come up on Monday when my friend was back after a weekend break. Before I set out to get it, I get a call from my friend who owns the garage who says he took it for a test drive (he was away at the weekend) and it's, erm, not been aligned very well so is mega tail happy. I used him for the sakes of a courtesy car and his prices were a bit better than my usual choices plus he has had some nice EP3's tuned and built by his good self which he used to track. Issue these days is he's so busy running the place he can't find the time to get his hands dirty and spends a lot of time unfortunately getting things right others have gotten wrong. Shame, as he's a top guy and trying his hardest. I get it back tomorrow as he's done the alignment himself.

Can't wait but on the flip side I can't decide if I should get rid, as the bodywork and wheels need some love and by the time I'm done another grand has gone down the pan, but I have other priorities at the moment and it will massively annoy me not being able to finish it as I want it for a while... cars eh? :)

My wife just called to let me know she's damaged both the passenger side doors, scratched and dented, in a multistorey car park. There was a concrete bollard on the corner and the turn was misjudged :(. No pics yet so I haven't seen the damage, but she'll need to make a claim for the repair, which will be the first claim she's had to make in 18 years of driving :(.

Meh, wouldn't worry about it - that's why you have comprehensive insurance. It is unlikely to make a massive difference to your yearly premium if she has been driving so long / has full no claims at present

This. I wrote off my S2000 earlier this year, insurance has gone up about 10% as a result at renewal, not a huge amount compared to the cost of the payout.

Yeah, it should be fine but obviously more of a nuisance. No idea what the claim/repair process is, especially over Christmas, but at least we have courtesy car cover if the garage need it for a while.

Tried to take the front passenger door card off the Picanto so I could see what size the speakers are (they are god awful unsurprisingly) but failed at figuring out how you take the door handle bit off :(

And none of the 70-90 year old owners have created a Youtube video on how to do it :(

Good news is that thanks to my bosses other half working at a dealer network that has Kia as one of their makes. The new OEM pollen filter is costing me a couple of quid.

Edit: Why do I keep getting yellow stars added randomly to my posts ?

Edit2: Looking around for any videos still I found this thread on a very buys Kia forum (its not).

Not really sure what to*make of that really.......

Edit 3: I am going to keep that random yellow star in*as they keep randomly appearing.

Edit 4:*And*that one.

Edit 5:*And those two.

Edit 6:*Bored now.

Want a fit insrrucruon for a door glass on one? Will tell you how to get the door card off

Nothing exciting. Had a couple of hours free this morning so a quick wash and vacuum.

Also sorted out insurance. Less than £250 for E46 320Ci. 9 years no claims and with 3 points declared. Not bad I thought.
