what headphones do you own thread - i own dt150's :)

^^^interesting to read what others are using with higher end cans.

So your sources are digital from your pc?? I don't use my pc for streaming to my headphones.

I have a FiiO M11 Plus LTD DAP which is my mobile DAC/AMP but via usb (Apple Music lossless) is the source connected to my Focal Arche desktop DAC/AMP.

When I used to use Qobuz and Roon I used to use digital coax to bluesound node 2i which was Roon Ready.

Custom Cans cable arrived, I chose a military style colour theme which suits the 650s I think

Just dug my 600s out after not really using them since moving house - forgotten just how good listening to music on them is (and just how much of a smile they put on my face when certain bits of music hit).

Think I need to build or buy a fully balanced DAC/AMP for them though - moving house also got in the way of my plans there.

Anyone here use Sennheiser IE300?
Or the Fiio FH7s?

I'm trying to decide between these two

I use the IE300 -- unfortunately never heard the FH7s though. I'm out of practice with audiophile-lingo, but it sounds fairly detailed and tight compared to my other IEMs in rotation - KZ ZEX, final E500 and Campfire Audio Lyra.

As for headphones...

Koss PortaPro with Yaxi Pads gets the most use.

Stragglers in the rotation include the Sony 1000XM3 (mostly for work calls) and Monoprice Monolith M1060.

I used to own Beyerdynamic T1 with a Woo Audio WA2 tube amp. Ah the days of (completely) disposable income.

Very soft pliable cable, the Wardmod one is more rigid. The cup connectors sit more flush to each can too so less straining I hope.

Where did you get those cables from? (looking for some currently myself...)

Anyone able to give some advice on IEMs?

I'm looking for a new set for general use, mostly out doors and paired with a Fiio BTR5.

When looking last year I was very close to buying a set of 7Hz Timeless but since then have fallen out of step with the latest releases. Is anyone able to point me to the current recommendation for about unto £200?

tbh for outdoors I'd go with cheaper pair, I like soundmagic for the price they're pretty good and durable. You don't need to spend tons of money, also £200 IEM and if you ruin them you'll feel sick. I've got a pair of E10. Nice neautral sound.

Thanks,

I went for pair of Truthear Hexas in the end. They were considerably cheaper than the timeless. I have a few more weeks to wait for them to arrive.

I'm normally quite good with IEMs, my current pair, Fiio F5s, have survived just over 5 years (be with with a replacement cable) and the pair before that last about the same length of time. Hopefully these should be ok for a few years.

Not headphones exactly, but I liked the Sennheiser CX 400-II earphones, the trouble is I snapped the wire on my last pair and am now using CX 300S which don't sound quite as good.

I liked the CX 400-II because of their warm sound. For some reason I don't like the majority of earphones in the ~£30 price bracket - they simply sound too tinny for me, which is why I stuck with Sennheiser. I don't like the sound so warm/bassy that I can't hear dialogue, which is primarily I listen to with these earphones.

Can anybody recommend a pair of wired (not wireless) earphones that have a warm sound? Ideally around the £30 region. I'm weary of buying CX 400-II earphones now, as there are so many fakes out there.

I see a Playmate 2 second hand in my local small ads and am sorely tempted. Any thoughts to sway me one way or the other? :D

did you end up buying the 2nd hand playmate 2?

my playmate 1 just failed with static on left channel. Pretty sure it would have damaged headphones if I hadn't turned it off fast. Seen some other posts with similar issues now on burson and similar kit.

I enquired about it, but it had already been sold. Sounds like I might have dodged a bullet!

Sennheiser RS175 (TV)
Philips Fidelio X2HR (PS5)
Hifiman Sundara (PC/mobile)
Simgot ea500 (mobile)
Shokz Aeropex (work/running)

Really want to swap the Sundara for something which fits my head better, but a bit of a jump to an Aeon or Edition XS or whatever.

Got some WF1000 XM3 in ears for the gym the other day, £50.

Pretty good at that price, wouldn't pay RRP though, too limiting compared to the WH1000 XM3 I've had for years which are miles better all round.
