what headphones do you own thread - i own dt150's :)

Bose Quiet Comfort 15s here.

Used to have a pair of Audio Technica ATH–A700 which were awesome.

They had a better sound than the QC15s but didn't have as good noise isolation and were much bulkier, so I've sacrificed a little bit of SQ for practicality and noise cancellation.

I haven't had any decent headphones for years as I've got a dodgy left ear. I always preferred earphones but no longer allowed to use those. Recently picked up an iPad so wanted some headphones and picked up the Panasonic HTF600's. They're ok on the iPad and pretty rubbish on my iPod nano. However they're great on my old Sony nw-a3000, really quite impressed with them for less than £30. I'm considering a fiio amp for iPod/iPad use, that might improve things?

Sure. If the Apple devices aren't giving them enough juice, then a FiiO will improve things.

Panasonic RP-HTF600-S and Philips SHH3580

Just getting into headphones, and both of these had their own threads on head-fi as bargain buys. Im very pleased with both so far!

Will be getting a Fiio E17 when it comes out to drive them too!

Really enjoying the HD650's I bought from Danza :D Waiting to get a decent amp to run them but it could be a while as my computer is still in pieces due to a half finished G5 mod.
Hope to finish it soon!

I did have a pair of UE superfi 5 pros but one of the shell cracked
Currently using AKG K701 and also a pair of 8 year old K271. Couldn't be happier with the 271s though. I used them extensively as a monitor engineer, also travelled around the world with them shoved in my backpack. Only had to replace the pleather once.

I work in Sounds Live so take them all home!!! :p
But I own, DT880 pro, DT150, DT250 and some Sennheisers, a few pairs -can't remember the model right now, and a few in ear for the bus etc.

What do you think of them? They must be very different to your DT990!

Without doing a side by side comparison it is hard to describe.

The DT990 have more sub bass and the mids are less pronounced than the HD650s, the treble seams a lot smoother on the Senns. I mainly use mine for gaming and have noticed a marked improvement in the depth of the soundstage for the positional cues. I can visualise exactly where someone is through a wall and headshot them the moment they step out :D They also seem less open than the DT990s, I hear a lot less background noise which is good.

I'm yet to run them through a decent amp or even feed them a FLAC.

Portable Shure E4 started the ball rolling for me, then Westone3, Westone UM3X, Yuin PK1, and Sennheiser HD580. Portable phones were ran from iMod (google it;)) and Full size senns were paired with the great iaudiophile 192. The latter combination is the best headphone sound that I have ever heard.

I received my UM Merlin today.

They got the colours wrong which I'm not happy with, but the sound is just...:D

I sooo want a set of Beyerdynamics 770's for gaming/movies. Just to justify the price of them and a mixamp :/

How are they rated the 770s, is there a better can for gaming/movies and comfort?

Personally think they look awesome too.
