It fits in my pocket just fine (suit trousers and jeans), and it's a smaller footprint than a lot of the 2 or 3 piece portable stacks with interconnects popping out all over the place people use.

Good lord. Do you walk around sweating with your keys pushed in-between your fingers ready to defend your ridiculous portable setup?

Your jimmies seem rustled. Shall I call the waaaambulence for you?

I have a smartphone and tablet in my bag too, as do innumerable others who get the train and tube on my route to work by the looks of things, and these are average people from an average commuter town going into and out of London. They also have watches, necklaces, rings, earrings, laptops and other items of high value being openly displayed and I know for certain many of those things (e.g the rotund bloke with the Retina Macbook Pro who sits in carriage 10 of the 07:03am from Platform 2, on the seat next to the toilet) are of a higher monetary value than what I'm carrying.

In thread related news, the Vsonic GR07 I have are nicely worn in but I still can't decide which ear tips I prefer!

Wonderful sound though.

Woah there, sorry, i didn't mean to offend. Just merely stating that that's well over a grands worth audio tech you're carrying about, which is well out of the ordinary. I'd be extremely cautious in your position.

For the price, compared to the competition, etc - and probably I'm used to much better Senns with similar design/comfort so when I wear them I'm wondering what's broken. And are they not almost the same in construction as the 555's AND using the same driver?

People sackride Sennheiser here and elsewhere, it's how they get away with charging so much and increasing prices. Few people actually have their truly good models that gave them a good reputation with audio fans in the first place; at best the 595's, usually a lot less ...or fakes. Likely better than what they're used to, but there's much better out there for less.

Sennheiser has its place amongst other high end Headphone manufacturers in providing real HiFi headphones. Saying that they are overpriced is a pretty bold statement. A lot of hifi heads, professionals and dj's/mucisians swear by some of their products, but then its all a matter of personal taste. No right answer is right of which is best, its all down to the individual at the end of the day and what sounds best to them. Lots of things to consider which could colour the sound, source, ambient noise (where they are to be worn) ect..

Fair enough. It actually cost less than a grand. It's far more likely an opportunist on my commute would be looking at all the people with the big, shiny Beats on - I just look like one of the many people with in-ears in - nobody looks closely enough to see they're custom fit and if they did they'd probably think it was a hearing aid or something.

I'm fortunate enough to always be surrounded by other people going to/from work, and even when I go in the gym I can keep my bag with me because it's a a bodybuilding dungeon type one, so unless there's some sort of mass robbery on the train by a gang (good luck being able to move through the human sardine tin) the likelihood of being robbed is very low. If I was walking through Brixton or something things might be different obviously.

Your post has nothing to do with mine.
The HD-595's now cost £60-70 more than they used to (but one example) and Sennheiser make some good headphones but most of their products are poor and sold on the reputation of the good products and their brand name, e.g. just about every consumer headphone they sell. Their 'lifestyle' Apple Store) range - Amperior and Momentum- are ridiculously overpriced, moreso than the competition even. Sennheiser also try to stop dealers selling below the RRP.

P.s.
Both my favourite headphones are by Senn.

My apologies, I just thought you were having a pop in general with Senn. You are right though in what you say. The good stuff they produce are very good, and some not so

Oops, I 'accidentally' broke my Panasonic HTF600E-S headphones today. ;)

Looks like I'll have to buy some new ones. I won't be getting these again as they're built like ****. I may well give the £50 Sony MDR-V6's a try.
