what headphones do you own thread - i own dt150's :)

Sony MDRMA900 at the moment. Very good sound and very comfortable. It always puts a smile on my face when I have to take the headphones off because I mistakenly think that there is noise coming from outside or next door lol

Recently got myself a pair of Pioneer HDJ-1500's. They are very comfortable and sound immense! Could be doing with something a bit better than my Xonar D1 to run them when on the PC mind. Maybe the DG would be better with the integrated headphone amp? Any thoughts? :)

D1 is a better card though. At 32 Ohm, doubtful they need an amp, so unless you require more volume than the D1 one can provide I'd stick with it. You could always add a FiiO if you want more volume.

Comply?

I don't like those foamy tips, never feel they provide a good seal compared to rubber/silicone ones. Fat silicone ones flaps seem to fit snugly especially once warm as they soften and wrap around the ear wall giving great isolation.

Currently i am using the HD598's and have had them for about a year now.

Paired with my Essence STX they sound amazing.

I am tempted to upgrade to the HD 650's though (At a push maybe the HD 700's).

Is this a worthwhile upgrade? the only thing i'd say lacking on the 598's is the bass.

i just did exactly this, in fact my new HD650s are in a box next to me waiting to be opened (im also using an STX/ and upgraded from the 598)

ill report back once i have a chance to test them

Look forward to hearing your feedback.

Especially as i've just been doing some reading up and have narrowed my selection to the HD650 or the HE400.

very very first impressions.

1) they fit tighter than the 598, squeezing my head a little and i only have a small head though i read this will give in time

2) the sound feels less "airy" but in a good way, like more control

3) initial feeling. i feel like i dont want to take these off and could just listen and listen, something i didn't feel with the 598

with the 598 i felt that something was missing and couldn't quite put my finger on what it was, i dont feel that with these even within the first 3 mins of listening

and from what i have read they need many hours of burn in to sound their best

i think im going to love these :)

I'm thinking of getting a pair of Audio-Technica ATH-M50s. Are they as good as people say?

Also, what are some good earphones, max price around £100 (preferably much lower)?

I'd get some Koss Pro DJ100's. They are every bit as good as the M50's and can be had for far less. :) (though funnily enough they are better if you fit m50 ear cushions)

There is also a DJ200, the main difference being the detachable cable I believe.

The stock rubber ear tips seem to pass through bass much nicer than 3rd party ones. If you look and feel closely you can tell that the stock IE80 tips are slightly different in rubbery/silicone material and the bass is much tighter and detailed. The sealing around the 3rd party and non Sennheiser ones are also fine but the bass just isn't there.

Sounding promising Paul11.

Whats the bass like compared to the 598's?.

For them to sound there best they recommend, like 20 hours of use right?. If your loving them now they can only get better haha.

to be honest, i will need some time with them and then going back to the 598 to make a fair and accurate comparison.

i think its a lot more than 20 hours to get them run in properly . 100s i think so yes , can only get better

i was just reading this

just had my 2 week old Sennheiser PC 320 game headset chewed due to my wifes cats :(

What would you recommend to replace these with that uses a jack not usb connection as i have a g1.sniper mobo which has creative audio on board?
for around the same price no more than £100, play battlefield 4 and 3 mainly.

I have nothing to compare them too so advice welcomed please. Sole use will be gaming as i bought some edifier 1600T for everything else.

update:

after a while of using my HD650 i wasn't really that happy, they were sounding a bit muffled and the separation wasn't that good

but i just bought and plugged in a new amp and OH MY..... Night and Day ..... they just came ALIVE :)

.

only way i can describe the bass is accurate , its not for bass heads but its clean and precise
