What Helmet do you own and why?

Been researching helmets all day and I quite like the Nolan N85 Monza N-COM http://www.helmetcity.co.uk/Nolan-N85-Monza-Blue_ATWDM.aspx

It seem sit has all the high end features, I quite like that it has the ratchet fasten mechanism, integrated sunvisor and pinlock and space for the nolan communications system - which seems to be a very good bluetooth comms setup.

What do you guys think of Nolan helmets? Is their Lexan structure good?

Schuberth S1 Pro - very very comfy and quiet and plush. A little on the large size, but its a great touring helmet.
Arai Viper GT - Great fit, size and noise level. Mainly wear this when i'm out on my own.

Spend as much as you can afford, and make sure it's comfortable and not too heavy.

I've got a Shoei Multitech - extremely comfortable and comes with pinlock and a visor lockdown. It doesn't have the sunglass visor insert, but the quality makes up for it.

When I bought last lid didn't want to spend shoei money so found AGV Stealth SV, fitted well and had 5 star sharp rating.

Pro:

Built in sun visor
Very light
Ultra quick release visor

Cons.

Deafening wind noise
Visor is made of cheese and almost unusable after 1 year
Extreme poor seal betwen visor and lid means water pours in gaps and kills vision

Stay clear tbh

I tried on the Nolan N85 XL and it was pretty tight and quite painful initially getting my head in (the openings on helmets are so narrow) :(

Been doing more reading up and I got my eye on the new Caberg Ego (sunroof ventilation with sunvisor) Hoping it fits better

Caberg has a sunroof ? :D:D

I have had an HJC HQ-1 Carbon for the last few years, and I still love it:

It's a lot lighter than every other helmet I've ever had (it actually IS carbon fibre, rather than just carbon-look) and I found it reduced from £300 to £180 in a local shop. HJC's have always fitted my head well and so I tend to stick to them.

HJC i can recommend - still alive after suffering a high speed head injury into a solid object!!! RIP FG-14 :(

Got a Dainese Performance Fear now. :)

Just got back from HG after spending an hour and 30 mins in there.

The guy was really helpful tbh (heard some horror reports about their customer service)

He measured and I was a Large....

Tried on a

AGV S4-SV ( to thin and I was biting the inside of my cheeks)
AGV Stealth ( to thin )
AGV K4 ( Fitted nice but no visor )
Shoei Quest (To thin and crushed my cheeks)

Then I tried a Nolan N-85 monza...I liked this helmet and it felt good on...The internal padding squeaked though....It felt light but you're right the entry hole is small

I'm none the wiser the whole process is making me feel sick:(

Its supposed to give you slight hamster cheeks, i bit my cheeks slightly with my helmet, it just depends how much you are biting them with the fit of it.

I understand that...But the AGV SV was really crushing them in...I understand they charge a fee for altering the cheeks pads?

ah yeh they are quite thin helmets.

With HG if you wanted that helmet what you could do is buy thinner cheek pads for it if the top of the helmet fits you right.

TBH the whole helmet thing is doing my head in.

I was about to splash 200 quid on the Nolan then changed my mind

Someone has already linked to the same helmet for 129!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

best thing to do when at HG and looking to spend some serious cash.
Ask for discount/free stuff.

You will always get something off/for free.

might not be £70 off but its worth asking!

It always worked when i worked there, and it still works when I buy stuff from there now!
