So many strikes happening or happened. Economy all over the shop.

Take out variables such as sector, experience etc.

If you had to quote a good salary in current UK what is it and why?

Contradicts your OP. Nice.
It doesn't as I wanted to know why for figures quoted. Keen to hear rationale.

depends what area, 30K plus in my area is considered good, in London that is considered rubbish
Take out variables also inclues location

In my part of the country, if you want a mortgage, couple of kids, couple of modest cars, a part-time working partner, a foreign summer holiday, and some cash for activities/leisure, then maybe £45k-£50k is about where you need to start.
Cotswolds is where your based correct? Lovely lovely place. I visited 2 weeks ago and it seemed an expensive place.

I'm a few miles outside the Cotswolds, but it's a fairly nice village.

Even in just pretty bog standard towns, though, house prices are above national average.

Yes I got that sense. I didn't think 40k-50k would be enough there so good to hear your viewpoint.

If location isn't allowed to be a variable then the only options is to say 40k, fully remote, and you have to move wherever you can then affor to live.

Extrapolate that and you'll find parts of the country desolate as no one could afford to live there.

Base location is incredibly important when talking about whether is a salary is good or not.

If you can afford to live comfortably in your current location, the salary is good.

If you can't afford to live comfortably in your current location, the salary is bad.

Asks people for a good wage and asks to remove variables like location. Proceeds to contradict self immediately by pointing out a location seems expensive.
The question is stupid without factoring in location. Unless you want stupid answers, in which case in my opinion, i think a good salary is anything above £1,000,000. Why, because i can live anywhere in the UK with ease and buy the things i like.
