In this PSG/Monaco inflated market, I'd say £40m+, pushing close to £50m.

In a normal market £35m probably.

£49.99M and not a penny more.

The current bid is just crazy money but then RM like doing business that way.

Whatever someone's stupid enough to pay for him

Footballers are like houses, eventually the prices will burst. Look at clubs like Portsmouth, Leeds, Doncaster, Rangers, Livingston, Gretna, Airdrie, Dundee. All chased a dream, spent beyond their means and have come close to extinction (or did in Gretna's case) Until common sense prevails the valuations will continue to rise.

30 to 40 million.

Anything over that is just stupid, he would have to be one of the greatest players the world has ever seen, and he he just simply isn't.

For 100 million Madrid could buy three players who bring a bigger overall benefit to their team than Bale (the same as Spurs won't notice when he's gone and will be probably be even better if they spend the money wisely).

It would take something ridiculous like Sky going bust for the current trend to stop. It's just a big money business and will continue growing.

As for Bale. Near 40 mil would be sensible considering his last season but anything more than that is mental at the moment.

I went with 50-60m No higher. Quality player, asset to any team but he cant be compared to Ronaldo. Sorry, just not on his level regardless of price inflation over the last few years.

Not only did I bold the bit I was talking about, but I've already answered that question :/

I voted £80m, purely because that's what we're led to believe that Madrid are currently prepared to pay.

If you'd asked me at the end of last season, what I expected any potential offers to reach, I'd have probably gone for £40-50m.

Wasn't bolded when I looked at it I'm sure.

Anyway as to be worth more than £1m? Obviously it's subjective. Financially? Probably. Morally? I find it abhorrent.

Morals don't really come into it though, do they? Morality and ethics are left behind when it becomes a business. Football is more big business and much less sport these days. Unfortunately that's just the modern game.

Morality wasn't mentioned when £1m was mentioned though, and as we were talking finances the implication is that we're talking financially. Ultimately a player's 'worth' is no more or less than someone else is willing to pay for him.
