What is Bulldog? #CorsairBulldog

Can you get a versatile case with a modular 650W mini PSU and decent cooling though? For any amount of money?

Yes.

Silverstone (and others) make several versatile Mini ITX cases, and they've just announced a 700W SFX PSU. In such a small case, modular PSUs are not really necessary because the connectors waste space and you generally use all of them anyway, not to mention 700W being pretty overkill. Their 450W SFX PSU is generally sufficient for most CPU/GPU combinations.

Seems weird that they are marketing it towards 4K when it looks like it'll only fit a single card, backed up by it only having a 600W PSU.

We figured 600W would be the sweet spot and should be more than enough for the type of build most people will put in this kind of system. That Bulldog 4K set up (Titan X) we have right now at Computex is pulling about a little over 400W under load. That gives you a good amount of allowance if you choose to overclock your CPU and GPU for extra performance.

I just watch the LTT video of this. It's pretty neat. I wonder if it will come prebuit or as a package for user to build in themselves? It looks so compact, seems like a difficult thing to put together. But then again, other ITX form factor cases are no easier to build in. Some folks are harping on the aesthetics. I think it actually looks okay. I wouldn't mind putting that under my TV.

The PSU looks interesting, 600W is plenty enough for a CPU and a powerful graphics card. No real need for any more power since there won't be more than a single GPU. Glad to hear it will also be sold separately and that it's modular.

The CPU cooler seems very mysterious to me. Some sort of low form factor AIO I assume. It might just be that case, but I don't like how it blocks out the motherboard and the RAM. There's a possibility it might be sold seperately.

No details were given on the fans though, so secretive. Are they special? Will I want them? I'm eager to know now, I do love a good fan.

All in all, an intriguing piece of kit, but I must ask, why call it the Bulldog?

The OcUK logo was designed by a customer in a competition we ran a few years ago.

you are the first person I have seen take issue with the company logo in the 5+ years we have had it.

so its not everyone is it.

its just you.

crap post. 1/10.

Much better entries, lots of other users mention the logo was crap and then the ocuk background doesn't even match the logos colour, something that a 12 year old would do not a professional designer.

Liking the cooling and ability to house some serious hardware potential of this. But agree with other posters that a computer PC needs a more sophisticated look. Black brushed aluminium maybe with some slight silver or chrome highlights at most.

Such a shame Overclockers doesn't change their logo, seems like it was designed by a 12 year old.

Regards
Everyone

The current one? I actually think it's alright. The only thing I'd change would be drop the cheesy white glow and reflection on the forum logo.

The grey of the 'UK' could probably use a tweak, but as a whole it's solid and I've seen far, far worse.

perhaps there were a few better options, but that is the one that won.

there were a few people at most in that thread who took issue with it.

you are in the minority.

i quite like the ocuk logo, i wouldnt have bought 2 mouse mats if i didnt :)

if you made some cool badges i would stick one on my case

I think the bulldog looks really interesting actually :).
I do wonder if there will be different designs of it though as I much prefer a minimalist look to my hardware. Am a huge fan of my 650D and was wondering when Corsair was going to release something akin to the Silverstone RVZ01.
Now to see what the final product looks like and most importantly perform ;).

someone told me that corsair are going to make changes to this case because of the negative feedback, does anyone know if this is true

No idea, but I don't see why they can't do a version for the Obsidian or Carbide product lines that has a much more low-key look.

Works for Silverstone - Raven 2 and 5 vs Fortress 2 and 5, Raven RZ01 and Milo ML07, all the Sugos from 05 have horrid and lovely looking versions of the same base.

But then, who would by an Obsidian "Bulldog" if the original Bulldog didn't sell?

Luke from LTT makes it sound like the case exterior is more of a pre-production placeholder, but not seen anyone else say that? Anyone know?

New Corsair logo is much better than the tramp stamp but I still don't see why it needed changing.

Thanks for the feedback.

Nothing official at this point since Bulldog is still in its early stage but AFAIK, we will sell it as a bundle (chassis, MB, CPU cooler, and PSU). Now for those who just wants to purchase the CPU cooler and PSU, they are going to be sold separately. Also, if SIs were to carry Bulldog, there is a good chance that they would sell it pre-built already for those who doesn't want to roll up their sleeves.

I haven't seen the spec for the fans yet.. but once we've got other things finalized, we'll surely let you guys know everything to the smallest details.

Given it's small size, it's a powerful beast :)

i don't like the bulldog or the lapdog i thin there is really not need for it

Yeah, it's not really for everyone. That's something that we've anticipated before developing the project. It's a new concept for us and for a lot of people, so I'm sure others will find it interesting, especially if you are a type of person that likes to play games in the living room.
