What is the creepiest thing to have ever happened to you?

There was a kid at school who thought he had a haunted boom box because it would change radio station on its own. He was a stupid ****!

Shamelessy bumping this thread with a story of my parents friends.

Many years ago my parents friends moved into a old cottage in a town called West Calder. I loved the old building as it had a huge back garden where I could play with the dogs or kick around a football. What I soon discovered was behind the giant stone wall in the garden was a old graveyard. This instantly gave you the chills as it was one of those old graveyards, the type you do see in zombie movies.

But the owners did have a few stories of bumps in the night. The dogs sometimes use to all transfix their attention on something unseen as it moved across the room, often in the old kitchen. They never did bark or go wild but remained focused on whatever it was.

Once the wife of the house woke up to find a old man at the foot at the bed, the husband woke up and saw the same thing.

The upstairs of the house always did have a creepy feel to me. Once the son claims as he was walking down the stairs, he heard the loud stomping of footsteps behind him as he was walking down. He ran out the house and waited for his parents to come back.

Reading this thread and having your PC shut down in a stange manner is pretty creepy :(. It wasn't a regular shut down or a BSOD or a freeze and shut down, the internet page closed and the desktop icons and task bar disappeard just like if I shut it down normally but then the screen went black so no shutting down screen and I got the 'Windows did not shut down correctly' message when I powered it back on .

I had something similar a while ago. I was browsing some sites about GCHQ. I was just zooming in on the GCHQ building on Google maps when my broadband went down. It didn't come back up until the next morning. It hadn't failed before and hasn't failed since.

Tinfoil hat required?

Creepy experiences when I sleep iv put it down to that sleep waking/paralyses type condition, I had one last week. I was in bed i was like half awake i could hear my bedroom door open i was like too tired to turn round i was facing the wall, thinking it was my mother or someone then heard footsteps towards me and a close breathing down on the back of my head and a touch on my shoulder for some reason i got angry and shouted out loud "JUST GET OFF ME!" and it went and i suddenly felt alert again turned round and nobody was there. Had a few similar experiences in the past with it to, only within the last year tho.

Anyone remember that thread with some guy who lived near a forest and could hear weird noises coming from it at night, was that ever resolved? Can't even find it using search now :(

Right just remembered another which freaked me out quite a bit.

A few years ago I had a very vivid dream. I was in a pub which I didn't recognise. But the inside was quite distinctive and very old. I was sitting there with my wife and by the fireplace was a door to a cellar. I remember feeling terrified in the dream and there was a ghost coming through the door. I woke up, didn't think much more of it and forgot about it.

Several weeks later I'm driving through Norfolk with my wife looking for a quiet drink. we were staying in a nearby hotel. We stopped at a lovely old pub, park and go inside. As we walk through t the back of the pub I instantly recognise it as the pub in my dreams.

We left and found somewhere else.

Found a dead rat in my middle kitchen cupboard drawer and the cupboard drawer was shut as were the other two, what a shock when i opened the drawer, it was a massive rat.

once had a customer touch me up in my taxi,

unfortunately said customer was 6 and a bit foot tall and had a beard.

I got drunk and had the urge to jump into the Tyne River. I did so, and it's pretty mental being in a coma. True Story.

This was posted on these forums a few years ago, but it's well worth a read (even if it's most likely fiction). Basically a caving journal some guy makes about his journey into a cave and the subsequent bizarre and creepy discoveries that follow.

So, I guess there were no updates beyond saying he was going to go back? It can't stop here, I'm gripped now!
