What is the loudest part of your set-up?

i would say that the loudest part of my whole set-up is a 120mm case fan which came with my case tbh.
5850 is silent when idle, arctic freezer 7 is silent up to 60%ish.
Antec truepower is quiet too.

Obviously, under load is different, as the 5850 gets a bit louder, but not by much actually. Still barely notice it.

The only thing i am suprised about is the samsung Bluray drive, god it's loud whilst reading!!

Just thought it might be interesting to discuss what everyones loudest/quietest components are?

loudest are my speakers! they kick some butt.
quitest is my ssd..shh its working.

ok serious now, loudest part is my 180mm fan silverstone air penetrator, where its only got about an inch to grab air it wurls the air against the side.

Also, same for my Samsung Blu-ray drive, silent when in operation.

My loudest is probably the 120mm fans or the 5770 fan because it's not well ventilated and needs a clean.
 
the 120mm fan in the front of my cast throwing air at 3 HDD's makes racket compaird to everything else once im gaming tho i would say the rear exhaust fan (pwm) 1800rpm like 84 cfm, feels like a mini fan heater behind the case once everything ramps up
 
Been systematically wiping out noise from my case, at the moment the hottest/loudest thing is my 6950, idle its silent, load its not bad but definately the loudest thing, but mostly thats irritating as, well I have it at 6970 speeds/shaders but any higher and temps need higher fan speed to control it.

Just got some sinks for the vrm so I can stick a silent cooler on it and will be shooting for 1000Mhz at least, silent.


Replaced a aging Thermaltake toughpower which has gotten crazy loud with a Be Quiet 750W, its incredibly quiet even with the system at full load. Case fans on new HAF case are all running lower than normal but can just be heard, air noise more than fan noise so a bit slower should kill the last bit of noise though think I'm going to find a good fan controller for that.

SSD's are the way to go for hdd noise killing, just picked up a 2gb Seagate LP sata 6gb/s drive as its rated at 21dba idle, 23dba seek, most other drives and the non 6gb/s slightly older version are 26-29dba mostly so will hopefully be nice and quiet.

Got a couple big Samsungs in there 1gb 7200rpm drive and a 1.5gb green one, can't hear the later, the former is a whiney git so I use it for storage and let it sit powered down most of the time.
