I still don't get the bit where they talk about Zion being rebuilt before several times and that Neo had predecessors who failed or something like that. Can someone please explain that?
The huge war had happened loads of times, and there had been several different people the humans found within the Matrix who they believed to be "The One". They failed to stop the machines destroying Zion, each time they destroyed it there were some survivors, who rebuilt the city and started the cycle again.
I don't see what there is to understand really![]()
But the significance to me about the gold one is because when he's in the "matrix" its green and he can do all that lovely superman stuff. When he gets blinded in the real world though and then begins to see in gold I think the film makers were hinting that all is not actually as it seems.
A series of three crap films, each one somehow worse than the one before...

Serious question, just what exactly is the matrix?
Talking about the film.
Anyone every see the bit in the 3rd film when neo can see things in Gold but apparently he's supposed to be in the "real world" they never got round to explaining the matrix within a matrix.

Zefan - Boo!
It's so true, are there any other trilogies that went steadily downhill like the matrix did?
