Dunno but conservatives in the US and over here (to a slightly lesser extent) seem to be pinning their election chances on selling it as the worst thing to ever happen to humanity. It will be interesting to see what happens come election time, particularly in the US where it's so tribal at the moment. My gut feeling is that the average swing voter doesn't care about it enough to have it be a major factor in how they vote. Maybe it will have a positive effect on conservative turnout?
working to make a positive difference in the world but not for certain groups. The term "woke" is a slang term that originated in African American Vernacular English (AAVE) "slang" and has gained mainstream popularity in recent years. It refers to being socially and politically aware of various issues, such as racism, social justice, and inequality, and actively advocating for change.
The term has evolved to encompass a broad range of topics, including gender and sexuality, environmentalism, and other forms of social activism. It is often used to describe individuals who are committed to progressive social causes and who actively seek to challenge systemic oppression and promote social justice.
The use of the term "woke" has been a way for people to signal their support for these issues and to identify with a larger movement for social change.
It is often used as a form of shorthand to describe individuals who are socially and politically engaged and who are actively working to make a positive difference in the world.
It won't power/heat my house.
It won't put food on the table
It won't make my mortgage cheaper
It won't prevent climate change
So if any politician prefers to bang on about how much harm woke/wokeness is supposedly causing, rather than real issues, I won't be giving them the time of day.
