What is your BMI

cheers. just doing it now. where is your waist, i know it sounds stupid but i always though men measured their waist as their hips, or is it just above the hips and do you breath in, out or just stay as normal to measure it?

I always though waist line was where your belly button is.

Most men (infact all men I know bar really skinny ones) wear their trousers just above the hips.

However, for the purpose of weight calculators, your waist is around your belly button and your hips are where your hip bone lies.

G - waist
H - trouser waist position. This is generally 4cm down from the natural waistline. (hips)

done the body fat thing. How come it doesnt take into account height?

weight 151.2
waist 32.6
wrist 6.5
hips 34
forearm 10.6

18.83% body fat apparently. lowest end of acceptable/end of fitness

BMI = 23.1
Could do with losing a few pounds to be honest (Literally a few, not as in a few stone :p) so it seems fairly accurate for me.

BMI of 19.5 and body fat of 10.03%, not sure if either of them is anywhere close to being correct though. I'm 6'4" about 160-165lb with about a 30" waist. I don't think the body fat % is quite right because you can't see my lower abs properly so I'd reckon I'm a bit closer to about 14% body fat but not too shabby overall and as has been stated BMI etc isn't really useful if you are active.

geeza you didn't need the wrist, hips or forearm measurements - the link says they are only required by women. :)

I'm 62kg and 5'9" though at the minute i'm trying to gain weight. Last time i done one of these i got a BMI of 19.2 so its going the right way :)

BMI - 20.1
BF - 9.34%

20.2...

I was 18.5 last year... but I think the muscle mass has bumped me up :p

as I'm still rather skinny as you can see the lower half of my rib cage :o

5'6", 60KG (9 and a half stone...) = 21.3 BMI...

Would like to bulk up a little to 10 stone, but other than that I'm pretty happy and healthy.

I mean ages across the board, including yours. BMI and age can give a rough indication to health better than a BMI number alone.
