What is your work PC like?

Well mine's a I7 930, 8gb ram, 250gb HDD, dell 19" tft from about 5 years ago and a LG Flatron L1810B, connected to a Geforce 9500gt.

used to manage the network from, test software deployment in VM's, administer servers via rdp and Vsphere. And after i've used it heavily it still slows down. Really need to sort out a raid array for the boot drive, but can't be bothered having to reformat as I know i'll forget something to backup!

My new one turned up today.

ThinkPad T420 containing a nice sandybridge Core i5 and 4GB of RAM. :D

It's the best ThinkPad since the legendary T42. Shame the screen is a useless 16:9. Doesn't anyone make a decent IPS laptop screen any more?

X220 has a IPS option.

My trusty C2D E6400 desktop PC started playing up last week - random BSODs and not seeing the HDs at boot.

No time to troubleshoot it this week, so I had a rummage to see what we've got in stock. Found a nice HP 7200 Elite (minitower), which is a Core i7-2600 (3.4Ghz QC), 4GB RAM and 500GB HD. Bunged a Radeon 5670 1GB in for proper multi-monitor support and things are working nicely again :D

Lenovo Thinkstation E20 Xeon X3440, 16GB RAM, 2x 1TB in RAID0, Radeon 5450 with 3 displays in eyefinity.

It's not bad, not great, but not bad.
