What keyboard d'you use?

this is just too much keyboard geekness. Blank keysets and DVORAK layouts? I'm not typing as someone dictates to me

Good thing I wasn't talking to you then.

I want a stylish, good looking, comfortable keyboard, not some elite i can type 1,000 WPM ugly looking keyboard with nothing on the keys

Don't be silly. The worlds fastest typist was Barbera Blackburn with a peak of 212wpm using simplified Dvorak. The coolest guy to ever type on a keyboard is Ron Mingo who averages 160wpm in QWERTY.

As for stylish and good looking. I prefer comfort over aesthetics when it comes to keyboards. Something a mechanical switch has more of than any membrane or scissor switch.

you can impress people with your knowledge of computer components, home cinema systems and audio equipment... not so much keyboards

Yeah, people going on about home cinema and audio systems does nothing for me. So it works both ways. That said, I know nothing about home cinema and audio. So I don't chime in and tell people who clearly know more about them that they don't know **** and are oddly obsessed. Because rightly so they'll turn round and tell me to STFU because I don't know what I'm talking about.

Nice keyboards (all the computers at uni have them), but I find the lack of palm rest irritating.

The padded, elevated palm rest on the MS Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 is awesome; it actually allows your hands to rest in a downward position rather than bent up at the wrist.
