Bazzite wouldn't even install on my modern hardware.I came here looking for answers and only found more questions
Is Bazzite still the go-to easy option? I'd love to try SteamOS but alas my leather jacket-wearing GPU disallows that.
I use it with Fedora simply cause it works out boxDo you guys not bother with secure boot at all?
Cachy can support secure boot quite easily with GRUB or Limine, not sure on other bootloadersDo you guys not bother with secure boot at all?

Epic Games just launched a Linux native launcher however, which will require Secure Boot amongst other things for any anti cheat enabled titles.
There's actually a very long list of requirements. Its all part of the entire eco system Epic are stating is required to deliver a Linux version of their anti cheat. Secure Boot is one part of the chain that provides integrity and other checks. How can an individual app require Secure Boot?
Tbh I'm just hopeful it leads to EA doing something similar, I'd love to play BF on Linux but more importantly I want F1 26 playable cause why the F does the single player portion need kernel level anti cheat??There's actually a very long list of requirements. That sucks. Btrfs has some really nice features. Having said that I've only actually used btrfs on OpenSUSE Tumbeweed so it is not a great loss for me.![]()
Ubuntu drops Btrfs, XFS & ZFS boot support with Secure Boot
Canonical has changed how Ubuntu 26.10 boots on system with Secure Boot enabled, in an effort to reduce the attack surface of the boot process.www.omgubuntu.co.uk
Talking of secure boot , Ubuntu has taken a wrecking ball to it unless you use ext4 or fat.
Edit: Should have read the article.
Tbh it's par for the course for Reddit, I don't think any of the subs I'm apart of actually read the article/link and just rage based off titleThat makes two of us, The way people kicked off on reddit wrongly gave the impression it was ext4 drive or nothing.
so here is where I put my obligatory PikaOS pimp![]()
I have been using it on a Nvidia Optimus powered Thinkpad P50 for ages and on a older Haswell based desktop with a Vega 56. No issues to report in either case, it is a good alternative to CachyOS if you want a cutting edge (for Debian) rolling update system. I was going to use it on my main desktop, but CachyOS has been great and hasn't died badly enough I haven't been able to fix it to allow PikaOS a chance.
The chap at explainingcomputers just done a review.

Not unlike CachyOS thenThe wallpaper does give the impression that the devs are sitting there in gamer girl cat ears!![]()
