What mail client do you use?

Opera to log in to Gmail. :)

Opera mail client (M2) to access 2 yahoo accounts (pop3), one isp account (pop3) and recently added 2 gmail accounts (imap).

Had planned to swap to gmail via imap as I have found yahoo's pop access a bit unreliable recently but gmail imap and Opera is not ideal. The usual story of gmail not sticking to the imap standard and Opera hence blaming gmail for the problems.

I have tried the Opera mail client but it just doesn't do it for me. :(

I use Thunderbird to handle my uni IMAP account, and just use the Gmail site for my personal mail.

I tried Outlook but it just doesn't handle IMAP well at all.

Ever since MarcLister told me about Opera inbuilt mail client, I ahve stuck by it and love it. The only issue with it for me is that you can save an individual email as a .eml file which to me is a real pain so thats why I keep Thunderbird installed for that reason alone!

Thanks

Neil

I may be the biggest Opera fan in the world, but i've never ever liked it's mail client :p
Phew! Not just me then. I think the problem for me was if I had two or more email accounts I couldn't separate them as Thunderbird/Outlook could. They all just seemed to merge into one gigantic email folder.

I have got 4 mail accounts set up in Opera and they all seem separate to me
Probably not the way I want them. :p

I forget exactly what the problem was but I doubt it will have been fixed/changed.

I don't quite know what it is, but using it feels very limted compared to using the web based GUI of GMail and since i'm using the browser anyway, well....?
True. :) I use Gmail and another email provider that has a pretty good website interface. :)

I used to use Outlook for 10+ years and I had to ditch it with its constant problems and the latest 2007 is just awful.

I am currently using thunderbird and to be quite honest, its being going great for me especially running 9 IMAP email accounts.

Outlook Express and GMail. I also have a Yahoo mail account from a while back that's still active.

Outlook 2003. Used 2007 for a while, kept crashing so back to 2003 which works flawlessly for all my accounts.

Windows Live Mail. Seems to work fine and I only need it check my Hotmail account anyway. For all my serious e-mail needs I use the Mac anyway, so it is just a backup for all the semi spam things I read from games sites.

Thunderbird. Couldn't get to grips with opera's and gmails thread thing.
My brain not wired that way.

"Get to grips"?

What can't you understand about it? It's possibly the best way ever to look at email replies! It was one of those "why hasn't it always been like this" moments when i first used it! Its fantastic!

I stopped using my GMail after about a day - I started getting like 1000 spam emails a day (even though I'd never given my email address out to anybody). I know they all go to *** spam mail folder but it's still very annoying

LeperousDust, do you work for Google? Or maybe wish you did :p
