I bet if you asked the same question to the Scots, Welsh, Irish, Aussies or any other nation they would give you a positive answer.
Ask the English and a lot feel they have to be negative.

One of the biggest ones would be that our relatives managed to win the war (and yet for some reason we still let Europe tell us what to do, it's pathetic)

I love being English cos the alternative would to be foreign.
Tis indeed an honour to be called an Englishman, and god in his infinate wisdom bestowed this upon only a few of his most chosen subjects.

I couldn't care less that I'm English. I just see it as a nationality and nothing more. I do however consider myself extremely lucky that I was born and live in England and not a third world country.

That's a bit exaggerated

I admit, not everyone is perfect in London, but I think you get that in any capital/major city, and from the listening to the news, a lot more trouble seems to come from up north!

I'm sure that those who are not proud would love to be other nationalities...

Even though we only have a few nice days a year, I would rather be English than many other nationalities, even though we pay ridiculous prices for things, and our road network isn't as good as the French (and we pay more for its up keep - to my knowledge.)
