What makes you want to be a part of the forums?

-Familiarity / ease, i.e. no need to register and generally know where to go to read about different topics, what the etiquette is etc
-Quite an old forum so know from past years certain posters that I should take with a pinch of salt, or follow intently
-Generally a fairly inoffensive place
-I like the idea that it was/is/should primarily be a computer hardware oriented forum, despite the fact that I mostly post about other matters these days. I couldn't see myself joining a 'general' forum these days.

Interestingly my 'primary' sub-forum has moved around a bit over the years, as my interests have changed and forum structure changed a bit

Their's a big general mix of people, theirs a lot of random topics that i like reading..

A lot of threads are political, which you don't find very often not that I've tried looking..

I should probably try using the forum to its full potential but obviously now I'm using it a lot less as everything i now write is reviewed first which isn't much fun, it takes admin a while to post up what I've typed..

Very disconcerting, kind of makes me wonder why i bother to post anything anymore..

So, what makes you guys use the OCUK forums, and what makes you continue using is?

The thrill and excitement that when i look round this might happen

I don't want to give the Daily Mail hits, but I need someone to tell me what I'm supposed to be outraged about.

I used to loiter outside OCUK when they were at the Imex park in Fenton: this and the sandwich shop (and lived to tell the tale) ;)

The only other forum that gives me as many laughs as this is Joe Rogans board.

The GPU section keeps me coming back here.

It gives me something to do... Cures boredom and alleviates depression... I post a lot, even when I have nothing to say... Explains a lot eh... :)

I came here because a link came up on a search engine for something I was interested in, and the name rang a bell with something a friend said.

Then I found some interesting threads, and joined to say something.

I'm still here because I haven't been booted out or got bored, but then, I don't spend much time here, or for that matter, online.

My impression of the forum? Good, which makes it much better than about 95% of the rubbish normally found on the net, much of which is a complete waste of digital acreage.

Because the forum layout is simple and old-school.

Sound advice on everything from PC fans to stalking random left overnight packages in the same position and setting up semi hard core surveillance to determine the outcome.

Oh and it saved me a fortune on new carpets for the house

It's definitely not the pc stuff. I know less about curent pc tech now than at any other point in the last 20 years. It's really GD that keeps me coming back.
