What "man jobs" have you done today?

With permission I assume yes?

Yes with permission. I offered to do it to save him from having to pay a 'tree surgeon' to do it as long as i got to keep the wood for my wood burner and for bon fire night.

Humorously, you're allowed to cut back any branches which overhang your property but everything you've cut still belongs to your neighbour so you have to offer them back.

I'd already cut the branches at the bottom so i could actually use that part of my garden, but didn't realise i had to offer them back.

Spent the day tidying up behind shed - greenhouse and oil tank - got loads of scrap wood which has been cut up and is now warming lounge - Just been out to mow back lawn and rain stopped play :D

I spent the afternoon clearing out the old insulation in the loft and laying the first layer of new stuff. The old insulation was patchy at best, with massive areas of the loft uncovered and not even up to the depth of the joists. I'm still black after a shower and I need to get back up there tomorrow to do the top layer.

Annoyingly the other half of our house is an extension which doesn't have access to the loft space. Weirdly it has a window on the side of the house looking into it, but no access from the inside. I'd like to get in there to see what insulation is there but after having most of the upstairs plastered this week I'm not in the mood for any more work and mess!

Can't say I'm too impressed with that wiring! :(

Don't worry, they're coax cables for TV from the previous owner. For some reason he wanted a TV point in every room. The cables at the back and the ones at the front you can see are CAT6 cables I've put in. All the actual power and lighting cables are nice and neat. There is one socket at the rear of the photo but the electrician is coming back to sort that one out soon.

Various things. Clearing the remaining old carpets, bricks, and general rubbish from the front of the house and taking it to the dump. Weeding. Trip to builders depot for some bulbs. Shoveling and bagging up a load of rubble, now in 5 bags in my car, ready to take to the tip tomorrow.

Man job to do...

Switched the kitchen light on and after about 10 seconds the tube went into flicker, flicker mode. Don't know whether it's the tube (which is at least 11 years old) or the invertor so will probably change both. Hard part will be getting the cover off without cracking the plastic.

Ran 2 network cables from living room switch up 2 floors (luckily through cuboards on each floor) into loft and then terminated in bedroom for tv and another router to create a new wifi spot up there.
