What "man jobs" have you done today?

second coat of paint done in the bathroom now and marked out where to drill the holes for the shower screen to be fitted :D

In future when painting over a previous aqua colour I'll either strip that off and reline completely or first put an undercoat on. Some patches showing through a bit so may need to get a third coat!

Still removing a 150mm reinforced concrete roof, was hoping to finish it yesterday.
Only a 200mm x 1200mm strip to go, plus repoint some brickwork on house.:(

Got to get it finish, as I'm having a grp roof laid Tuesday in place of the old felt on shed.

Installed a 5' fluorescent light in the attic (2 x 58W with electric ballast - instant on, pretty cool).

The cable at the back left going over the breezeblock is just TV co-ax btw :p.

Wired it as per my trusty DIY manual's section on cutting into an existing lighting circuit:

Hoping it's just coincidence that two of the bulbs for the bathroom downlights aren't working  :p. I'm sure it must be, since the rest are fine and they're all on the same circuit :D.

New edition, has harmonised wire colours now.;)

Wouldn't be too worried with bathroom downlighters, my lamps frequently pop, if I'm stomping around the loft above the bathroom.

Trimmed the hedge today. Only 2 years since it was last done :o

Was about 4ft wider and 5fr taller than it should be in places! Massive pile of cuttings, going to take a few weeks of filling up the wheelie bin to get rid of!

No pics of the hedge, I'm sure everyone know what one looks like :)

My hands and arms are red raw though :( Plus my back is killing me!

Added another door to the rear of my shed.

Next job will be to build some sort of canopy and put some decking down. Then I have a bit more space to work in.

So, were putting a kids playhouse thing in the garden (was delivered today) but needed a base to put it on as its going in the back border and decided on a timber deck.

My dad put the basic frame of the deck (2.4m x 2.4m) together, bolted and ready to go and tonight weve dug the 16 holes for the leveling posts, cut and screwed / bolted all the legs on. Sat them in a hole on a brick and then concreted them in ready for the decking and edging boards tomorrow and then the play house at the weekend:

Frame in place, holes dug:

Didn't realise there was so much of a slope in the border (gonna need a step us as well - oh joy !)

All in place ready and leveled :

Unblocked my drain. Spent 30 mins driving around trying to find some rods, then struggled to get the manhole cover off. "Hmm lets try the coat hang trick", I thought. Cleared it instantly ... DOH!! should have done that first!

My old man finished the decking off yesterday

After these pics we concreted some more posts in to form a step and I went and got some more decking boards to form the step and trim / close up the gaps around the front and sides - more pics later

No man jobs done yet, but I've just bought myself a pressure washer to clean the car. I'm totally gonna blast that bird poo right off the bonnet later!

Then grass cutting, then dismantling a Wendy house, then having a BBQ. Quite a manly day.
