What "man jobs" have you done today?

Not today but all the weekend.

It's been a good oven whilst we have lived here (2.5 years). Only problem is the bulb keeps blowing, even after a few days now. A bit of googling suggests I need to replace the lights fitting but that requires puling the oven out.

Knocked together some shelves for the plastic storage box.

Tomorrow's job is to transfer all the stuff I want to keep from the old shed, throw away the remainder and then dismantle the old shed. Already feel tired...

Painted the front door, electric and gas meter boxes.

Also painted small brick wall in garden, pressure washed front steps, washed car, hung load of pictures around house, fixed Dyson handheld.

After the new shower I've lined the old cupboards previously with 6mm MDF and then today undercoat x2 + paint x2, built some fitted airing shelves.

I suspect tomorrow may be painting fences.

I had the tarmac done Friday morning at 7am, it’s now been more than 48 hours but should I give it at least 72 hours before I park my car on it?

It’s had the sun on it all day Friday and most of yesterday so it might still be a bit too soft for my car and I don’t want to leave an imprint on it just because I’m being impatient.

The Mrs wanted to let the chickens wander round the back garden (after snipping their wings) and the perimeter to our property is pretty (chicken) secure apart from an old "gate" to the side which was rotting, covered in ivy and the hinges rusted solid

"Removed" it and cut back the ivy then grabbed some leftover timber, chicken wire and a few tools from the garage

Knocked up a frame

Lashed some chicken wire to it

Had to screw some extra timber to the old uprights to strengthen them (I'll replace them in the next few weeks).

Managed to dig out a few hinges and a bolt and got it into place

And let the chucks out

I'll.take it down and out some new uprights in, stain the frame etc. But all in all quite happy knocking it up and installing it with left over / spare bits from the garage and will do it's job nicely :D

Rotten old shed turned into rotten old flat-pack. Going to spend the evenings this week turning it into small enough bits to fit in the car, for disposal at the tip. The fence gets replaced next week.

More work on the tree house this weekend, beginning to line the walls with some left over polystyrene insulation I had and then board out with some left over loft boards.

Built a big set of shelvesfor my wife in her craft room.

Changed the boot gas rams on my wife’s car, should have done it months ago.

Got the chainsaw out and chopped up some logs, it’s not a great saw. Probably blunt, lacks power and there is a problem with the clutch.

Split some logs with the hydraulic log splitter.

A moderately busy weekend all in all.

My council is running a reduced waste collection service at the moment. An old shed is not on the list of things they will currently allow in their bulk collection service.

Gate was rotten and dropping apart, so built a new one and fitted it today:

Just need some decent weather to paint it now.

Should probably have left a couple of inch gap at bottom to stop water tracking up the wood. Although I doubt it really matters that much.
