What "man jobs" have you done today?

Textured ceilings are a pain when it comes to repairs. Our previous owners did some small repairs in the office and did a crap job blending the texture in. Luckily not really a problem in a garage!
Ours are artex, I just get them skimmed flat if it's a problem.

(not at you, but on phone so cha with multiquote) When I saw that pic I thought you meant the small gaps round the pipes and thought it was op being a bit special, now I realise it was a big hole :D .

I am wondering about possibly filling in the gaps around the pipes. The hole was massive and just had a piece of plaster board just slapped over it with a few screws holding it in place :p

Not sure how best to do it. Maybe holesaw and a small piece of plasterboard, or just build up filler. Could even back it with some wood then filler upto that.

That was just an initial fire up to condition the oven

I was not able to get it as hot as i wanted to. The walls didn’t go above 100-150c but i reckon next time i just need to add more coals

I wondered if anyone on here has any experience with tandoors?

Well overdue plumbing for utility room for washing machine, always messy :).

Waste pipes are temp will be changed and solvent welded with a U-bend.

If it's not to late change the 90 deg bend for a swept 90deg one - Or change all if you can -It will make flow easier and gives you more of a chance at rodding it in future (god forbid) .
I also have buried 90's and really wish they were swept.

My Focus ST head gasket started to let go on the way home from work yesterday, so did a sniff test on it at work this morning and the fluid went straight to yellow.
A bottle of Steel Seal was chucked into the header tank and I let it idle for 20 minutes and..

no trace of CO2.

I then took the afternoon off work and released my gardens inner path..

Still got another two to do :(

Awesome looking table, but I cannot unsee the two kallax units being on different sides now that I've noticed it.

Cut the grass

Then shifted another 5/6 barrow loads of gravel to top off the paths ...

Then weeded the front gravel bed

Then the idea was to spread the rest of the gravel over the bed as never liked the existing gravel which looked like hardcore / dolomite

There was a tad more gravel left than I thought ...

All shifted

Nice thick (about 6") bed now, should keep the weeds down....

Just thought I'd cleared the drive and the Mrs has informed me she's ordered another 2 ton of topsoil, coming tomorrow to put on the various beds around the garden, joy ....

You use a ride on to cut that size area?

A robomower would do well there
No, just a little Honda Izzy - ride on is a bit of overkill and too big to get down / up the steps between the front and back garden ( were
on a bit of a slope! )

Forgot about the steps...definitely a robomower would eat that area alive.

I have an older Honda Izy as well (16" HRG415). It's now 15 years old and has never let me down. Will always start after 1-2 pulls of the cord even after sitting all Winter in a shed and not moving.

The only thing I have had to replace is the cord. I now no longer feed it through the loop in the handle as this is where it eventually wears and breaks. Just ordered a new blade for it as well.

Fantastic machines which will last a lifetime IMHO

Yeah the Izy is probably a similar age, never been serviced, no.oil.added, same spark plug.

Starts first time.

Only thing I've had to replace is the pull handle and two bolt covers (with butterfly bolts) on the lid

Absolutely bulletproof
