What "man jobs" have you done today?

Decorated my master bedroom, quite straight forward but filled some cracks in the ceiling, painted ceiling, filler came out. Sighed.
Painted all walls, caulked the window.
Today was paint the chimney breast Hague Blue and refill the holes with a different filler. Repainted filled holes and it seems to have taken this time…
Best part was deciding to emulsion the radiator. Was just a bog standard white one before but painted it the same colour as the chimney breast on the opposite wall and think it looks great.
Going to install a little shelf above it for knick knacks.

what's my screen
That looks awesome. I hope it stays looking awesome. I've never painted a rad as I have this fear it'll start to flake.

Yea that’s my concern as well. Not that I can afford to put the heating on so hopefully it won’t crack! I’ll try and keep you posted though. I want to do the other ones now but will probably wait until after winter to see how it holds up.
I didn’t do anything to prep it beyond a good wipe down and a light sanding.
It was three coats of paint.

What about brush marks? Does it look painted?

I went down the tip and dumped 2 old printers, 1 old telly and some boxes.

I roared when I got home into the mirror "you're a tiger....rwaarrrrrrr"

Man jobs done for this year.

If you look particularly closely, then yea it looks painted. But I didn’t do a particularly careful job. How often do you closely look at your radiator anyway?
Walking past it and glancing at it you wouldn’t notice. Here’s a closer pic (using a flash to highlight the paint marks)
10/10, approved.

I keep seeing brushmark less paint and getting jealous. Maybe I just suck at painting.

On the tool wall

You now need to draw round each tool to so everythig has its place.

My garage looked like that ONCE - then you go somewhere and see a gadget/tool you have always wanted but don't need and say I will have that -Get home and "where am I going to put this" - So after a lot of thought and shuffling it ends up poked into a little gap you left on purpose to make it all look tidy and even. and so on and so on.

Also the main problem with massive tidy ups and place for everything you find you can't find what you want - when they were just thrown in a gap you knew where they were and now they are staring you in the face but you can't see for looking.

That looks very well done. I would love to paint a new radiator the same colour as a feature wall, but it's got plastic trim on it, and like yourself, am worried it will flake as it's just standard wall emulsion!

I sprayed my radiators the same time I was spraying the walls and then just spray lacquered them.

They now take knocks without chipping and fit in with the wall.

It'll look like a plasterer's radio.
Funny you mention plasterers, we had one round to do a skim in our entrance way and I've never seen such a mess left behind. He even chipped a few floor tiles  . I had to spend sn hour cleaning up after him, (I didn't pick him, plumber did) in contrast to the guy I picked for doing a ceiling, and his Mrs wiped the walls and the coving as he went along. There's a world of difference between some tradespeople, worth keeping the numbers of the good ones.
