What "man jobs" have you done today?

Anyone remember the father ted episode where he damages the bosses car and keeps fettling the dent until he ends up with a cube of iron?

Yeah...that's where I am. I keep tapping around the walls to see if I discover any unbonded plaster. I am now left with dealing with this:

I hadn't realised to attach the cills, they bricked in - tongue and grove fashion - a block of wood. So as I was trying to lift the right hand side cill as it was a good 10mm out of plumb, more came off. Ce'st la vie.

Off to India tomorrow for a few days, so hoping I can at least slap some amount of muck on the walls so it is nice and dry when I get back on Saturday!

I think I might take a break from decorating/plastering monotony and start the floor in the other room....................
Sounds like your plaster is live and ideally you should just take it back to brick and replaster either drywall or wet plaster.

Just got back from 3 days in India so did nothing at all. It was splendid. Hoping I can do final first fix deep fill plaster/skim tomorrow....but first I need to go to the tip.

Also, might mow the lawn for the final mow of the year (again). The weed and feed has killed a lot of stuff off but still very jank.

Proper shed, that.

Scarified the lawn. What a boring job.

Looking forward to re-seeding it.

Electric scarifier?

It's why the house is such a state. I didn't pay much attention to it when viewing.

It's built by a famous Worcester based firm who used to nick wartime buildings and then sell/rebuild them for farmers lol. All fully tanalised. Will outlive me hopefully, although the roof needs some new rubber grommets around the bolts. Hoping to put solar on it at some point.

Nice. Good luck. I just decided I'd do the whole lawn and then re-seed the lot of it.
Yeah that pic is midway. Scarified a while back, put weed killer on and now overseeing and whacked some top soil on. Not expecting a lot but hopefully better than aweful!

Surely... that plaster you'veremoved is the right shame for an olde worlde stained galss window! Get it done mate!

Aye our last place had cills like that lol

Hi guys,

How do you suggest to attach skirting board?

Hi! :D

Nailing / screwing if there is any chance they will be removed / replaced (and your going to be doing it) you will just have to countersink screws / punch the nailheads, fill and decorate in top

If staying in place and the surface is ok behind the No More Nails (or similar) is your friend :D
