What "man jobs" have you done today?

Do you trust them as i hear so many people get told they need a new boiler and then second option is it needs few small bits or in one case with a friend nothing.

Took about 2/3rds off our brush/shrub out the front and took 2 car loads to the tip and filled the garden bin to the brim

Ready to procrastinate and build some cabinets....

Oh and finish the last bit of the skirting.

Also, SBRed the small bit of the hall that needed raising. Should screed this evening but I'm so tired!

Cut a 10cm hole in a perfectly good wooden door as it’s a mandatory requirement for any room containing a wood burner or a fireplace.

It was that or cut a hole in the glass of a double glazed window or, even worse, bore a hole through a 50cm think stone wall.

Flushed the rads with x800, put my makita pump on the playroom radiator feed to clear a blockage. Cleaned magnaclean, fixed magnaclean broken collet :/ and then reconnected.

Flushed again, refilled with x100. Checked all 23 rads. Will balance tmw morning.

Hate plumbing. Messy.

23 rads? Holy crap... I've only got 9

How many rooms you got?

However I prioritised making best buddies with the B&Q cut guy, so 200 notes later:

This is enough MDF to build my shoe cupboard and alcove cabinets.

^ I drew this up weeks ago, I pray I got it right lol.

Managed to walk out the front door with both of us leaving the keys indoors and the spare key holders, just about to board for the States.
So todays Manly job was to climb the rear wall and kick the backdoor in () and do so without throwing a flashbang in

Swept up half a tree's worth of dead leaves from my drive, the shared dropped kerb and about 3 houses' worth of pavement and gutter/kerb. Much neater now but I just see the opposite side of the road still covered when I look out of the window

Also scraped a load of moss off of my drive - turns out in addition to several thin layers of badly done, crumbling tarmac, there is a later of silty gunge. And that's why it's all mossy. So made a start in knocking that back and hopefully the remainder breaks down and dries out while I get hold of a wire brush.

Made a start on fitting skirting in the lounge but that is a Tomorrow Job. My manual mitre box is too small so I can't start a sensible cut on this skirting:

I'll do it tomorrow with the electric chop saw.
