What "man jobs" have you done today?

Thank you and I agree ....:P

Mrs TB reckons seven years is long enough and wants a change so going darker on the walls and woodwork having the ceiling repainted at the same time !

Going darker is always risky as the room looks smaller. It's a lovely big room with a great view. Just hope Mrs TB likes it. Had similar issues with Mrs Piggin & ended up having to change a dark colour back to light. What a pain that was

Thanks and yes, that is a concern but, hopefully, the size of the room and amount of natural light will take it ....

If not Mrs TB and the colour consultant only have themselves to blame

Who am.i kidding? It will, of course be my fault :P

Repositioned a few lights in the kitchen that were not really doing what they should be doing and filled the holes for replastering.

My ex brought her petrol strimmer that wouldn't run , found the pick up pipe with the filter attached had fallen in the tank, easy fix after removing tank

Booked a skip for a shed dismantle in March.Kind of just want to crack on now, but thats where the stars align life wise.

Need to get through my anxiety and make some other calls, flat roof and a fence quote.

I should have done that some years back, ended up doing multiple trips in my old fabia, bugs and stuff everywhere

Previous owner has left a fair bit of what looks like concrete from old fence posts and lots of other junk behind the shed. The Focus in my sig is an old car but I don't really want it full of concrete.
Had it just been the shed I would have considered what you did!

My hedge was leaning over in one small section as my neighbours had let it grow wild on their side ,not a biggie and they are nice so asked them if i could zap it with the stihl 60 seconds job done

Cleared the lounge for the decorator starting tomorrow

Cannot believe how much stuff there was in there and how many rooms ha e now got "stuff" in Them due to one room!!

Left the settees in as simply nowhere to store them, sure he can sling some dust sheets over ....
How's the room coming along. Does Mrs TB like it or do you have to change it back

Gave newly plastered bedroom walls and ceiling a couple of coats of watered down emulsion
I had a few rooms plastered when the tenant moved out a few years ago now it drove me potty. Found Wickes paint to be very good as it watered down well & didn't cause a plastic film to form so the wall still breaths.

Then after a few coats but the expensive top coat on that is easy clean. At the moment it's holding up really well even though it's an off white

It's done and looks.great! :D

They finished yesterday afternoon and going to get all the furniture back in later today when fully dry.

Even got the radiators painted the same colour as the walls. The only think is for Mrs TB to decide if the window cill stays "strong white" (same as the ceiling) or the same colour as the walls. I personally think not should stay white, but we'll see ....

Will post pics later

They're back today to finish the bedroom and ensuite then back next week to do the hall, stairs and landing and kitchen. Plenty of lifting and shifting to keep me busy....

I hope the rads were removed for decorating ;).

Strong white is a F&B colour right? Did you use their dead flat? I've found it very good and it goes on wood and rads too.

Of course !

Not :P

We had the F&B colour consultant and she did a "scheme" (different colours) for all the ground floor apart from my study

The price came back and even with the discount from using the consultant was a bit "heady"

We have a decorator we have used for a few years, does a great job and is very reasonable. He came round to price to do the work for us. Didn't point blank refuse, but as good as when we said we wanted to use F&B

In the meantime Mrs Tab painted the spare room / her WFH office

F&B ceiling, wall and woodwork. It was a nightmare

Doesn't cover (area or adhesion) very well and we very quickly found you can't "touch up" of you mark or need to go back over a "patch" it doesn't blend in, you have to do the whole wall again ....

We then did the utility room and used the B&Q "V&Co" colour match - was a very close match and went on a lot better and no issues with patching

The price came back from the decorator (using a colour match to the F&B) and was actually less (to supply the pain amd decorate) than the F&B paint, with the discount ....

He's done the lounge, it looks great, really happy with it and the match is, well, spot on

Color consultants sample and the color matches wall
