What "man jobs" have you done today?

Few pictures in the daylight.

They are doing a bit of touching up and second coat of eggshell on the cill and I'll then put everything back in the lounge

Looks really nice and loving the new colour. Also pleased for you that the sofa, cushions etc are a very similar. Otherwise Mrs TB would sting you for some new soft furnishings

If you have then you are a very lucky man.
However, its never over until its over and the phrase I hated was 'everything else now looks a little shabby since we painted'.
Also, loved the WE in that statement as I can only remember me being up the ladder with paint dripping down my arm. Note to self, dont ever paint your arm pit as its a nightmare getting the paint off of the hair

Any feedback before I go too far guys?

I'm pretty sure the board is the right way (tapers left and right fractionally).

100mm drywall screws with fisher plugs.

I won't post pics....

My wife has 'her' bathroom. So toilet, sink and bath/shower. I get shouted at if I use it. Fair enough.

I have just spent 2 hours on an escalating journey of plunging and drain clearing the the largest hair/toilet paper/poo/wee/soap/everything that could ever come out/off a "lady" I have ever seen.

NGL, there was an almost strange 'big poo'-esque satisfaction seeing the 'gurgle' when that final push just got everything moving along and I could finally see the bottom of the sewage drain.

Anyway. I've been informed by the wife, that as the sole user of said bathroom (the source), it's not her fault.

Women eh.
My wife is always complaining that it is her that always cleans out the shower plughole, that ends up clogged with long blonde hair.
I have short dark hair and only 2 of us live here, now the daughter has moved out :-)

Tired.

Decided to make the waste long enough so I can connect it to my neighbors drain.

I also added a new rose for an outdoor side light. Luckily the 1930s conduit was just thick enough to squeeze another wire down, so I have a switch next to the porch switch for it too

Decided to whack all the elements in a massive wago box. Will I regret this? I just have a switch live going into my light now, the ring is totally inaccessible forever more. Stupid?

Finally got the chance to put the floor down permanently, set the toilet 'forever' and start to first fix the bath......OH SNAP. just realised writing this I've forgotten to run my hot/cold feed to the vanity lol.

Anyways, got a bit of insulation down - this slab stuff is basically loft insulation, it seems no different at all. Waste of money as I have a bunch of left over rolls in the attic.

Also finalised all the wiring so I can fill the wall.

I think I'm on kid duty tomorrow so no more progress, altho hopefully the jointing compound benefits from the extra drying time as bits still seemed a bit....moist....after several hours.

And with all furniture / stuff back and curtains back up

And bedroom

Need to clear the hall stairs and.landing for them coming back Tuesday then the kitchen back end of the week ..

Loving the colour of the bedroom but I think Mrs TB is going to sting you for a set of curtains

I get the same issue but its with all women as ex Mrs Piggin had long brown hair and the current girlfriend has really long blond hair. Have to say the brown is easier to spot as the blond just blends into the surroundings until you end up with a fur-ball

In a previous bathroom I got a tiler in but this one I had a bit more time and did another small tile projects practice behind me.

Today though I realise I've made a bit of a balls up with the vertical setting out in the niche. I realise that there would be a slither at the bottom of the niche so there's a couple options

1. Keep the slither at the bottom
2. Do what Ive done as indicate and run it full height in the niche (loses the grout line)
3. Fill out around 20+mm and bring "up" the niche so the bottom is flush with the tile

Not sure if it's worth doing option 3.
