What "man jobs" have you done today?

Of course !

Not :p

We had the F&B colour consultant and she did a "scheme" (different colours) for all the ground floor apart from my study

The price came back and even with the discount from using the consultant was a bit "heady"

We have a decorator we have used for a few years, does a great job and is very reasonable. He came round to price to do the work for us. Didn't point blank refuse, but as good as when we said we wanted to use F&B

In the meantime Mrs Tab painted the spare room / her WFH office

F&B ceiling, wall and woodwork. It was a nightmare

Doesn't cover (area or adhesion) very well and we very quickly found you can't "touch up" of you mark or need to go back over a "patch" it doesn't blend in, you have to do the whole wall again ....

We then did the utility room and used the B&Q "V&Co" colour match - was a very close match and went on a lot better and no issues with patching

The price came back from the decorator (using a colour match to the F&B) and was actually less (to supply the pain amd decorate) than the F&B paint, with the discount ....

He's done the lounge, it looks great, really happy with it and the match is, well, spot on

That looks really nice.

It cracks me up reading about F&B. My boss loves it, which is fine as he has lots of money. But we bought a new (to us) building, which is predominantly warehouse. He had these poor guys he employs as handymen paint the whole ceiling in this F&B green colour. The "room" is probably 300m2, and the roof is pitched. They must have hated it.

I just don't get it. I use F&B and have always found it excellent and very easy to apply. The coverage and depth of colour are really good.

It is hideously expensive though obviously.

What's the durability like?

We've painted most of our previous home walls in a durable matt finish, but bought our current home which has hideous colours but a low sheen silk and the one thing I will say is the walls wipe clean easily and haven't marked much despite the previous owners only very rarely decorating.

How's the room coming along. Does Mrs TB like it or do you have to change it back

It's done and looks.great! :D

They finished yesterday afternoon and going to get all the furniture back in later today when fully dry.

Even got the radiators painted the same colour as the walls. The only think is for Mrs TB to decide if the window cill stays "strong white" (same as the ceiling) or the same colour as the walls. I personally think not should stay white, but we'll see ....

Will post pics later

They're back today to finish the bedroom and ensuite then back next week to do the hall, stairs and landing and kitchen. Plenty of lifting and shifting to keep me busy....

Few pictures in the daylight.

They are doing a bit of touching up and second coat of eggshell on the cill and I'll then put everything back in the lounge

I mean as long as she's happy. I preferred the old colour!
I also would have left the radiators and skirting white. :D

Wasted 3 hours repeatedly dismantling and put back together my Nilfisk 110 as the stop start is acting up. Taking out the stop start cleaning/greasing and it will work on first go but as soon I let off the trigger it wont start up again  the Mrs is most helpful with "see I said you should have got a Karcher"

I know its a cheap product but I cant imagine the Karchers are much better?

Took apart an Oculus Quest controller and fixed the snapped trigger internally, with parts from a donor one. 14 screws, flimsy plastic clips and delicate ribbon cables. Tricky one. All done and working.

Had to repair a UPVC door mechanism when I went to close it and the damn latch jammed, stopping the door from locking - mechanism wouldn’t allow the cams to fully engage. Thankfully, stripping it down and oiling it got it working again.
