What "man jobs" have you done today?

Changed my mind and went for full pieces.

Did you make the niche smaller then? Is there any reason why the niches aren't centred? They're closer to the outer edges than the inner.

Edit - because the shower is going to sit in the middle?

They're centred to the shower riser and had to avoid pipework.

The shower riser will go up the grout line. It's quite a tight shower to be honest as it's only 700mm (x1500mm) but will just be used as a spare

The sun is shining and the sky is blue - What a great day to replace the outside tap - Have already bought it and put it somewhere so obvious I couldn't miss it.
An hour later after checking all shelves and storage boxes in garage i gave up.
I did put it somewhere obvious and right in front of my nose and I didn't miss it when I found it.
I stuck it in my wardrobe in bedroom and not the obvious place -The garage.

I will do it another day when I am in the mood.

Sounds like me

Cleaned gutters out on garage (very full of moss slidden off the roof.
Got a leaf blockage on downpipe from roof, no ladders big enough to get to it, so tried feeding the garden hose up the downpipe.....couldnt get it around the bend at the top so a waste of 30 mins.
Caulked back bedroom.

Told the Mrs thats it for today, football is on! :-)

Football is absolutely no excuse. 11 full grown men kicking a bag of wind around a field - Whatever next

Did you try turning hose on where it got stuck ?

I've just ordered some stuff from Wickes and a few other places ahead of some proper man-jobs the week after next. Finger needs a rest after clicking the mouse. Mind also.

Been really unwell the past week or so, slowly getting back into it. Deep cleaned my window vac (which we mostly use for the shower), did my monthly check on the car, cleaned the washing machine, and removed a nasty dangerous nail from the loft using my new hacksaw

My sister got the keys to her house on Friday eve so naturally I went round and made the kitchen disappear

Some of the DIY attempts I’ve found throughout the house so far have been shocking to say the least. Worst one was the kitchen wiring. The flex cable from the induction hob was not terminated very well in the outlet and as a result has been arcing and burning and the washing machine and fridge was plugged into a 10m extension up and across the top of the units then back down.

'Accidently' went back to brick in one of the bedrooms, so it looks like I'm going to have to learn how to batten, insulate and plasterboard.

I thought we might be able to get away with a skim but when I pulled some architrave off, a huge chunk of blown plaster came with it. 5 minutes later and that whole wall was plaster free.

Also found this lovely crack underneath one of the windows, which I'm now worried about. I'm thinking it was either caused when we had the window replaced a few years ago, or when the rsj was put in when the single storey rear extension was built about 30 years ago.
