What "man jobs" have you done today?

Done something similar, just put my knee on the hob to steady myself while drilling a hole for the extractor fan and bang goes the hob. Only trouble was I couldn't get one the same size so had to cut the hole bigger in a granite worktop to accommodate the new one.
Oh wow! That makes me feel *slightly* better - that's bad bad luck mate !
Well they happen in 3's so fingers crossed the last one is just running out of Marmite.

Do you think they will just replace the whole unit?
Yeah fingers crossed it's something minor !

I'm hoping so as you can get a new once for £2.5k ISH and given the parts price, labour etc I'm hoping they just fork out for new !

Changed the battery in the clock

Then dropped the #$@*@#* clock on the induction hob ....

Put in some goovee lights - I don't really like the app and struggling to work out how to pair them. Got alexa which can change the colour of "garden" at least as one

Yeah the app is rough. The Philips ones are better if it's really grinding on you -- however I've just got govee on timer so I never have to see it.

Filled the chases in the walls from putting in new sockets. That’ll do for the day I think … perks of living in a 50’s council house, each room only has one socket so having to add many more each time I start decorating a new room!

Looks really good.

I've had Goovee drop its connection a few times over the years and it can be a pain to pair them up again.

Too late now, but Tapo do GU10 in white and colour and so far have been easy to set up and haven't given me any issues.

Set up a cutting station for the 1.1m by 2.4m box profile panels. Proper jerry rigged with offcuts but seems solid.

They actually look better than expected as they have a wood type effect on them. I got them from rhino sheeting.

I realise I should have made the overhang slightly longer at the sides as now it's butting up the the underside of the facia rather than the soffit (~10mm gap) but not easy to sort now/not really noticeable

Gonna be awkward trying to fit pelmet at these angles. I might just not bother and leave the brackets on show.

Caulked the plaster coving and additional dado rail I put up a few weeks ago. Second time with plaster stuff having done the dressing room before Christmas. More time consuming and less forgiving in some areas but moreso in others! Worth it I think.

Matched the pattern on as many joins and corners as possible. Still a few bits I need to fill and finesse but I broke the back of the job today. Picture rail sits about a foot below these two (3rd picture).
