What PC games are you playing?

Anyone played the Yakusa games and recommend a starting point for a newbie? There are so many, some are action, some turn-based, so not sure where to start, or if I should start.

As above, 0 if you're new to the franchise. It's basically the origins story of the series and will introduce you to all the key characters and, incidentally, it has one of the best storylines (Majima's arc in particular).

Chronologically, it's 0, Kiwami 1 and Kiwami 2 (those are remakes of 1 and 2 respectively but only K2 is on the new engine). The rest of the games haven't been remade.

The turn-based games I had my doubts about but they're super-fun and absolutely worth playing, though Infinite Wealth's story is very weak by the series' standards. It makes up for it, however, by being one of the most unapologetically fun games I've played in the last few years:P

I can also recommend Judgment, the spin-of series, there are two games and 1 in particular has a very strong storyline.

2 for zero, okie dokie, it's on Gamepass so will give it a go, ta people!

Made the mistake of downloading Euro Truck Sim 2 and now I'm addicted!
It's funny how enjoyable it is. Driving to drop off the deliveries with the radio on, and upgrading your trucks and hiring drivers. These days, that's actually my job, so I haven't played for quite a while. :)

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is out next week (20th) as well. It is another spin off game, but it starts Goro Majima as the protagonist who is one of the best characters imo.

There is also a demo available as well.

Ori and the Blind Forest - Wasn't expecting much from this really but it's kept my attention surprisingly well and I've already sunk 18 hours in to it :).
The two ori games are incredible. I've played through both to 100% twice lol. They tick every box for what I really enjoy in a single player game.... So hard to find something else that does :(

Tried out Indiana Jones and the great circle, graphically wonderful, story seemed to be good, but i find myself struggling to enjoy stealth focused gameplay.

Now i find myself in single player limbo again, struggling to find something to keep me entertained.

Finally got back to Endless Space 2 and boy have I been missing out! The game is absolutely superb in every way. It's a shame the studio decided to crash out after it.

I didn't know there was another one. May have to pick that up at some point :)

I love Metroidvania games and I enjoyed the aesthetic of Ori, but I found some of the platforming / insta-deaths a bit jarring. Random stuff falling on my head without warning… ‘going back’… took me out of the experience quite quickly.

If you both want something with exploring and platforming, but a bit more ‘obtuse’, I can highly recommend Animal Well.

Will check out animal well, i love games like that but the pixel art style of these games is starting to get a bit tired, for me personally anyway. Played quite a bit of Noita, terraria, enter the gungeon etc and aesthetic style of Ori is part i really enjoyed. Will still check it out though.

I’d say it’s even more understated in the visuals than most ‘modern retro games’. It’s very eerie and has a strange ‘presence’ to it. You’ll only get what I mean when you start playing…!

The first credits takes around 8-10 hours but the post-game is where is gets very fun. If you can find all the eggs without looking it up in a guide, you’ll have officially impressed me :D
