What RAM are you getting/bought for Ryzen

Hi,

What RAM are you planning on buying or already bought for your Ryzen build. I've bought quite a few parts for the new build but not RAM yet, I'm interested in knowing what helped you make the decision on amount, speed, quantity and timings?

Thanks

32GB G.Skill Trident Z (non-silly LED version :p).

Not sure on speed yet, depends how capable it is. Probably 3200MHz though. If it can't handle that high then I'll drop the frequency, if it can handle more I'll get higher rated. Either way I'll try and get the most out of it and tune it.
Not sure on 2x16GB or 4x8GB yet.

I got CL14 G.Skill 3200Mhz 16GB.
I do nothing more demanding than gaming, and games can use more than 8GB (F4 HD has used the most I've ever seen - 10GB) but not as much as 16GB.
I got a good price on it.

CL16 3200mhz Vengeance's 2x8GB sticks personally.

Probably best to get the lowest CL/highest speed you can afford. It seems like only certain motherboards are currently supporting speeds over 3200 (going by the leaks) but if you buy higher you could drop it down to 3200 with some nicer timings.

Thanks for the replies, G.Skill has a lot of fans on here, shame OCUK don't stock it.

I think I'm going with 16GB, 32GB is just far too expensive and my PC is a gaming machine so wont utilise it anyway. Still not sure on speed and timings, I really do wonder if RAM is just a marketing thing and I wont see a difference in games if I get speeds over 3000+

Can't quite work out which would be better for overclockability. 2 DIMMS @ Higher density or 4 DIMMS at lower density.

Team Group Elite 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 PC4-19200C16 2400MHz Dual Channel Kit

I have been a Crucial man for years however they don't have any decent DDR4 kits out yet (apart from ECC ones) without gaudy heatspreaders. I did toy with getting 16GB for now then buying a 32GB Ballistix Sport VLP kit when they eventually arrive but decided that I didn't want to touch the system for a few years excluding GPU upgrade.

Avexir Core White Series 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 PC4-19200C16 2400MHz

Never used Avexir before, but it was the best priced 32GB set available.

As far as 'real' overclocking goes, pretty cack. But for the sake of Zen it's fine.

Thanks, as far as DDR3 ram, I have used OCX, Geil, Patriot, Corsair and Kingston in the past. I currently have some patriot 2133 in my AMD computer which is fine.

I have not used DDR4 before in any build but will probably go for Corsair in the absence of any reports against.
