What retro things have you done today?

The 3 Amiga joysticks seems to be working just fine.

The SNES controllers are all made of cheese and are not working.

The top right SNES controller shows most promise. I opened it up a few times and eeked some life out of it, but I wouldn't rely on it.

The SNES Multitap seems to work well.

Shame about the SNES Pads not working. At least the joysticks work!

Has your PicoGUS turned up yet?

What did you use to clean your controllers; I've got a few grubby ones that could do with a spring clean.

Sweet. How long did it take overall to arrive?

Get some pics up if you can please :)

Will you be ordering one?

Get it in a machine dude, doesn't matter which one, just test it to make sure it works! I'm going to put mine in my 233mmx machine i think.
I hear you buddy... ..still deciding.

My P200 MMX is housing one of my all time favourite sound cards, the Ensoniq Soundscape (Value)
My first ever retro-build is housing a Creative Awe 64 Value
My 386 is housing a versatile Aztech ISA with S2 Wavetable module
My Dell P90 is housing a Yamaha Audician 32
A new retro build is needed for this.. :p

We as a family were expecting to move house since April and it still hasn't happened. It was at that point I would re-organise my Retro PC collection and get this in somewhere.

Purchased a set of Altec Lansing ACS50 speakers.

I originally owned a set, back in 1997, purchased along with a Dell XPS Dimension P200MMX. The set I had back then came with a subwoofer.

This time around I'm happy to forgo a sub. :)

Ooh, I have a pair of those, but I'm missing the AC adapter! Could you take a pic of the label on it so I can find the right one? :)

I wanted to share my finding with the Joystick functionality of the PicoGUS v2.0 as there seems to be very little info on getting it to work if you have any issues.

After a lot of swearing, specifically purchasing an XBOX 360 controller and many hours of trouble shooting I finally figured out how to get the bloody thing to work. What was throwing me was the controller would power on and show a connection with the system but refused to be recognised in games.

Turns out if you have another soundcard present in the system with a Gameport in my experience it conflicts with the PicoGUS's joystick functionality resulting in it not being recognised. It was a random Reddit post I have to thank that gave me the idea to disable the Joystick functionality on my Creative CT2230. Fortunately this is easily done by removing a jumper on the card, i'm not sure how easy it is on more modern cards though.

Anyway it works fine now but there is a compromise, as by doing this I have to remove the CT2230 to swap the jumpers over everytime I want to use a Gameport joystick in Windows 95 :( hopefully this is something that could be fixed in a future firmware update.

Hopefully if anyone else is having issues with this, this post may help them a bit

For those that fancy a new wireless controller that works with Win 98 onward's the 8Bitdo Ultimate 2.4G Controller is a good shout :)

It supports
Win 98 - D Input
Win XP - X Input (Proper Trigger functionality )

My Retrotink 4k arrived yesterday, managed to get 10mins to have a play today. It seems pretty awesome so far; easy to use and seems a quality item. My PS1 has never looked better (it already had an PixelFX hdmi mod), but it really looks spot on.

My NeoGeo CD is giving me some mixed results; some colours in some games are either too bright or there’s a little strobing. I need to spend more time with it and probably download the FirebrandX profiles. I’ll try my PS2 next, I really hope that looks as good as my PS1 does now. The PS2 has always looked poor in my eyes, so the Rt4k has some work to do here.

Picked up a few bits from a friend of a friend who was clearing out. I took home a whole car full of stuff because it was already packed up, but it turned out to be 60% chaff.

Here is what I kept out of it:

Couple of S7 boards, loaded with RAM, I think one has a P166 and one has a P200. Shame they don't have coast slots, but you can't have it all.

Another S7 board which must have come from some kind of network device. Not sure what I'd do with it, but it was just above the "throw this away" line :p
No idea what the chip is, the heatsink is thermal glued to it. Probably a WinChip or something.

This Pentium D equipped Asus small business server. I thought the case might be interesting to mod.

There was a Macintosh Performa 630, but it was in such horrific shape and missing the front facia and all of the rear plastics, that I decided to gut it so I can sell the component parts.

Boxed ZIP drive, and a ZIP interface card thingy, and a TV card:

A few more bits...

Of note, a JAZ drive with one disk which may be a bit of a time capsule! :D

If anyone wants an old copy of AutoCAD I can hook you up...

And then this lot. Nothing particularly special here sadly, but the tape drives and the 5.25" floppy drive are nice to have, as well as some very old SCSI drives. A lot of that may end up in my Compaq Prosignia.

Picked up an SN30 Pro for some retro gaming on my Pi5.

But it's going back as the buttons and dpad just don't feel nice, at least to me.

Tried comparing to a few other pads...
