What retro things have you done today?

No bother mate. I dont want this board so if yours is dead and you are dead set on a build with this board I dont mind sending it your way if you dont mind paying for post.
Also.... I have just realised I checked the RAM from the wrong pc(slightly newer AMD pc - MSI MS-6511, Athlon XP 1600+).... I'll check again in a bit.

That is very kind of you, will send a trust shortly and some money your way.

It would be nice to get the A7v build going!

@synrgy87, similar, but not quite the same, though I am tempted to use the breakout cables/card/box with my Audigy 2 ZS Gold. Though this Audigy Platinum EX is unused!

Also arrived is my Asus A7N8X-Deluxe v2.0 and my Athlon XP2800+, and my Zalman cooler.

That is going to be a nice build :D

I just finished transplanting my p3 into the tower case with some "help" from a 2 year old.

All working nicely except my compaq CRT is now making concerning static "snapping" noises and each time it does this the screen flickers as if it was just turned on. (It had actually done this once or twice in my ownership but now is happening all the time so I have turned it off.)

Hopefully it’ll make for a good build. Still unsure which GPU to use though!

Your CRT issue sounds like the flyback transformer is on the way out, or at least the caps feeding it the high voltage.

Might be dying :(

Always wanted a Live Drive - no idea why as probably wouldn't have had a use for it - think it would have been just to fill up one of the six 5.25" bays my Chieftec Full tower had :)

Ha yeah that's one reason I got it, filling up a full tower case, it's nice for front headphone jack and volume control.

Very cool board I really like mine, have a 3200+ in it with a SB X-fi fatal1ty + drive bay although not currently hooked up I need to redo the fans n wiring and drives, got a wd raptor to throw in, it's in a clear acrylic case but inverted. Runs XP and a 9800XT.

Im a bit gutted but... I do have a better CRT just means going up and down a ladder with them which isnt high on my priority list :)

Started a spreadsheet so I can start documenting what I have and a rough value of it (going by sold listings).

Just had a max £1 fees offer come up so I think the clearout is due!

I did some retro activity for once. I had an urge to play the original C&C (still haven't bought the remaster). Installed DOS, Windows 3.1 (this seems to be 'a thing' I have to do now on DOS PCs). Ended up swapping out CF cards for one with Windows 98 /DOS already perfectly set up for similar hardware (my standard Slot 1 + AWE32 combo)

I've found a new love for Windows 98 and DOS using DVI - great picture and no auto adjusting between text modes and graphics modes.

I've got a hankerin' for some different hardware. I've got a pile I want to sell but not really sure what route to go down. Tempted by dual Socket 370 (or even just single 370; I've not really used it at all I always ended up with Slot 1 by chance).

Dual 370 is done to death unless you can get hold of some tualatin kit. May I suggest dual Athlon MPs?

Got some parts listed up tonight. If anyone stumbles on them and sees an error in my listings I wouldnt mind a nudge :)

Also got my better CRT set up. Levels better than the old one!

So looks like a no to delivery, and i cba to drive over.

On that bases I wouldn’t do it for £30 no - wouldn’t you just drive and get it.

Hi, just to confirm, i was thinking about you physically driving the machine to my house, i would pay you to drive over since you are looking to get you of the house.

Let me know either way.

Cheers,

Mark

Let me look into delivery and I’ll get back to you today - thanks.

Mark

Yes I’d you pay I don’t mind just looking to get it out the house really.

Hi, I live 53 miles away, would you consider delivering the item if i pay you for it?

Thanks,
Mark

This morning's first job was to sort out the fact that I had no I/O shield for my Asus A7N8X-Deluxe. Fire up the 3D Printer!

Tempted to take some silver spray paint to it.

Might as well upload this one to Thingiverse as lots of I/O shields on there, but not this one!
