I love how Apple fans will recommend a phone that isn't even out yet, without really knowing anything about it. It's really quite amusing how brainwashed they are.![]()
I have already been with HTC / Android. I'm an apple fan as in I like Apple products. No harm in that is there?
I'm not one of these product fan boys, I get what is good at the time regardless of what company so don't sit there trying on with this fan boy business.

You're recommending a phone that isn't out for a few months and that we don't really know anything about yet? I'd call that iFanboy of the highest order mate.
In fairness, you can assume that the iPhone 5 will be pretty good. However, Apple have been a bit stupid in waiting this long to release it.
Even though iOS is going to start to lose its simplistic appeal and clean look a bit with iOS 5, which is where Android will make its move![]()
There's no major features on new phones worth upgrading for then at the moment? In terms of capability or new features, it's just better specs of existing features like camera, storage space etc?
This is a good possibility for you davestar - if you're content with the desire the next round will be released in what looks to be late October (iphone 5 will be a month or two earlier) and with the rate phone tech moves at - should include a faster GPU and a 1.5gig dual core or so. Onboard memory will likely be better in a bid to compete more with the iphone 5 (personal speculation) and memory prices will have settled a bit leaving you open to pick either of the OSes and possibly even a BB on the offchance they get off their behinds and make something useful. If you are perfectly happy with the phone I'd wait for the next wave of phones to come out, hopefully Q4.
Pretty much, but the dual core does help improve a lot of things, like handling flash HD perfectly fine, playing every game nice and smoothly including tegra 2 ones (need to root though), much better camera 1080P recording, which is outstanding in terms of quality and smoothness and of course playing media files/films perfectly fine as well.
My Desire HD does all of that without the benefit of a dual core.
Brave post.![]()
The DHD does not have 1080p recording - its 720p recording and its choppy and lesser quality, Cannot play 720p/1080p mkvs or output to tv.
Granted for 1080p recording but it plays 720p/1080p mkv files fine and I was watcing the output on my tv last night.
Maybe it's rom based (leedroid 3.2) - I know it OC's quite heavily?
it really plays hd mkv's? and was that dlna to tv?
no hd mirroring?
I find that hard to believe unless you converted files or something, you don't have to do that with the majority of files for the GS 2.
720p recording is fine, no large/frame skip. Agreed that light metering isn't the best though. As said it doesn't even support 1080P, even the 720P recording isn't smooth and the quality is pretty poor especially the light metering part.
Plus the scrolling on web pages is without a doubt much smoother on the GS 2 especially with image or flash intensive web pages. Does the desire HD play HD flash content smoothly whilst being able to actually move about on the page smoothly?
