What sort of headphone do YOU use?

Grado SR80 for the home and Koss Portapro for my iriver H140.
Very pleased with both. Only dislike is that i like my music loud and the Koss leak a lot of sound and i don't like annoying people on trains/buses so will be looking to replace the Koss for outdoor use.
Anyone have these Koss and shure e2c/westone um1/etymotic er6i and can compare?

:)

I had Grado SR60 for my pc (driven by santa cruz and the late 7050 AV receiver from kenwood) which were awesome but the centre orientated soundstage gave me headaches and the headphones were 100% uncomfy after 30 mins or more so I returned them and bought the Sennheiser HD485 - I will NEVER look back again, the sondstage is very nice and it engulfs you fully which is just what I need when watching movies, playing games and listening to acoustic music. The bass is on the same levels as the Grado too and after drive in period (almost 100 hours) sounds even better. Every detail is there. They are fairly new models though from Sennheiser so proper reviews may not be out yet.

SO in a nutshell, the HD485 vs Grado SR60 (and SR80 since they both are virtually identical bar the earpads which come with the SR80 which once put on the SR60 sound like the SR80...):

HD485 = Padded stand mountable on a shelf or table
HD485 = Very low sound leakage (SR60 could be heard from downstairs on medium volume)
HD485 = very comfy headband with a good half inch thick padding on underside (SR60 hs no padded headband)
HD485 = Nicer highs, feels more ronounced
HD485 = Wider soundstage
HD485 = Detachable single entry cable
HD485 = Around the ears fit as opposed to Grados "on the ears"

For mobile devices I use the Sony EX71slb that come with the w800i phone but I bought the HPM70kit (added mic extension) for my k750i and am quite happy with it thus far...I had the EX81SL but I prefer the 71s

ooh yes, Thought the bass was a bit off at first but after a whi9le it all settled in :D Might have to change the plastic bit to large as they feel lost in my ears at the moment :) Shame about the 4pole extension needed, the smaller part is just perfectly long enough to reach my pocket with a bit of slack, with the extension its by my knees lol. (Can use the plastic doodah from my old sonys to wrap it up in though)

Also build quality is top notch. The wires made me skip a beat though, being so thin but they are rather tough and hardy (they passes the *lets goto sleep while listening to music test* without that biochemical acid or flames coming out of my neck ((dont ask))

Thanks a lot for pointeng them out mate :D

Just got some Creative EP-630 canalphones and they're pretty nice. Much better sound quality than my now broken Sony MDR-931s and my Sennheiser PC150 gaming headset. Only annoying thing is how I can hear my footsteps thudding in my head when I'm walking but at least I don't have to turn the volume up high just to hear the music over cars driving by.

Sennheiser PC160's.

Got them delivered today from OcUK. Havn't got to use them fully yet as I've been redecorating my room - but so far, so good.

Coupled with my new X-fi, I'm hoping for some pleasant sound :D

Yeh, definately only worth doing if you're confident with a soldering iron. Not that you need good soldering skills for the mod, but you might need them to solder a new 3.5mm plug on it ;).

Hd-25SP's with a Rio Karma and a cMoy I got off the Bay. I got them because they are closed-back headphones that don't disturb others.

It can be handy not to be able to hear someone if you are on the train or tube. ;)

Sony Fontopias ;D, they have good bass and cut out background noise and they come with three sizes of the in-ear silicon bit.

My friend has the Etymotic 6i and they look really uncomfortable. -.-
