What sort of Scoobie is this?

apart from the XT though, right?

EDIT, infact weren't some of the early Impreza's FWD too?

My Scoob is FWD with a Dual Range 4wD setting for when you have to pull the car out of mud or drive on a beach or pull it out of a tree :p

Imprezers have always been AWD AFAIK though :)

yeh some of the early GL was fwd as option

Not sure if I was all that clear. Mine didn't even have a rear differential. It didn't have a rear prop shaft, it didn't have a 4WD selector in the car. There weren't even bolt holes for any of the 4WD system to go into.

And it wasn't that it was an option on these cars, the AWD was the option in those days.

Ideal. So it's definitely not a turbo then. One of my mates said he went in it the other day and it pulled like nothing he had ever been in? Bare in mind he owns a 1.4. 205. I am sure it is a non-turbo so perhaps he was just thrashing it or something.

Without having a poke around under the bonnet none of us can say for certain. People have a habit of doing daft things to cars so we can't rule out the possibility of it having a modded to death turbo engine whilst the exterior has been made to look like a lower model.

He must have done something strange or wrong with his insurance then. As thats impossibly cheap.

he had it insured in cornwall under his mums name, so it was in a super low post code. before 12 o'clock before he turned 21 it was £2500 and it dropped to £500 after. we reckon he found a flaw in the tesco database because they randomly cancelled his insured 6 months later and he never found out until he tried to renew it so he was driving around for 6 months with no insurance. he ended up selling it to pay for his masters.

There we go then :) I only pointed it out as i have found impreza turbo insurance impossibly expensive when compared with other very similar vehicles. Even the basic (rather rubbish) turbo 2000 model comes in at over £2000 for me in the best postal code, this is using the same details that sees £650 on an MR2 Turbo, or about £600 on a 200sx touring.

Madness!

The 1.6 and 1.8's were FWD only.

Negative, or at least, not in the last 15 years. AWD. Everything Subaru has made in the last 15 years or so has been AWD including the useless Justy supermini.
