Anyone know what these are for?

I've noticed they seem to be popping up all over the place and they've just installed two massive ones near where I live. Some of them have huge junction boxes at the base too.

I thought they were sound monitors. You often find them in residential areas near airports etc

Thought they might be mobile masts but the ones near me are only around 600m apart! Different providers perhaps?

Statistical reserch should be banned from public domain. Public doesn't understand what they are looking at. It points out avenues of research. Nothing more. The chances are the links have nothing to do with what the media or stats say.
