Stay off the road and go back on the pavement/pay road tax . I feel bad for some of you guys as bumps are uncomfortable with suspension I can only imagine what a road bike must be like going over them.If you think the roads are unbearable in a car, try cycling on them!
Some of them are so big it feels like a bicycle would go into them and then out the other side.Stay off the road and go back on the pavement/pay road tax . I feel bad for some of you guys as bumps are uncomfortable with suspension I can only imagine what a road bike must be like going over them.

if you have the fluro jacket on and behave assertively the Cambridge drivers will acquiesce to mid laneThere are two places now where I have to make the choice of going in the middle of the lane which is very dangerous or going onto the pavement because I would damage my bike.
I personally think the pavement is the better choice, as long as a rider is not trying to set their PB. There's a far bigger speed difference between a bike and a car compared to a bike and a pedestrian (depending on road), maybe have a change in the law to ride on parents in 40+ zones, and on the road below that .There are two places now where I have to make the choice of going in the middle of the lane which is very dangerous or going onto the pavement because I would damage my bike.
Now for those who want to have a go at me for using the pavement I never see anybody walking on that one and the road is way worse now - https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@52.9...151101T000000!7i13312!8i6656?hl=en&authuser=0

from here https://news.npcc.police.uk/release...-responding-to-people-cycling-on-the-pavementThe re-issued guidance is -
“The introduction of the fixed penalty is not aimed at responsible cyclists who sometimes feel obliged to use the pavement out of fear of the traffic, and who show consideration to other pavement users.
"Chief police officers, who are responsible for enforcement, acknowledge that many cyclists, particularly children and young people, are afraid to cycle on the road, sensitivity and careful use of police discretion is required."

That looks amazing compared to the roads round here! Your road wouldnt even make it to the top 100 needing repairs here!
The 71-year-old grandmother died six days later in hospital.
At Nottingham Youth Court on Wednesday, he was handed a 12-month referral order. Police say Mrs Davis is thought to be the first pedestrian to die in an e-scooter collision in the UK.
riding on the pavement V ... if you didn't see it .....
the adolescents around Cambs on them are irresponsible ***** , had one who cut in and was doing about 20mph for a mile in front of my bike on the road ,
riding erratically , as I then had to brake behind him going down a hill , before he pulled off - battery running out ?
True, but you should be safe to walk on a pavement without being run over. That's why I think normal cycling on pavements is OK just not people using bikes with no brakes (think that was a guy a few years ago that killed someone).I was in Cambridge last year for 3 days and couldn't believe the awful eScooter use however cars will still cause more death an destruction a 1000x over compared to eScooters and cycles.
I am a cyclist and I TOTALLY disagree with that. I've been clipped by 3 cyclists in the last year and my next door neighbour has been struck twice! It is an offence to ride a cycle on the pavement.True, but you should be safe to walk on a pavement without being run over. That goes without saying. If the sign is up it is a shared pathway!Unless the council has arbitrarily put up a blue circular sign saying otherwise.
