Always used to go to bed around midnight after watching a film. These days as I have hit 30 I find myself going to bed earlier and earlier around 10.30 on a school night mainly as there is hardly anything else to watch on TV.
Weeknights I'm in bed around 10:30 go to sleep about 11:30. I wake up for work at 6:30. This is pretty much the minimum sleep for me to function at work!
My sleeping is all over the place - I don't naturally sleep very convenient times and trying to force "normal" times just results in my sleeping pattern going into a spiral i.e. 9-5 job is pretty much a no no for me.
I'm in my late 30s and it hasn't really changed at all over the years - if left to my own devices I tend to drop into a 3am to 11am pattern but as I'm currently working nights its 5-6am to 12-2pm but occasionally if I'm later finish work or whatever that can get pushed to 7-8am then my sleeping gets knocked right out for weeks before it goes back into pattern.
If I'm not working I can also do 11pm to 5-6am quite well and infact those days are probably when I'm at my sharpest/most productive but for some reason that doesn't work at all if I'm working - doing those hours I crash after work get about an hour and a half sleep then wake up wide awake ruining my pattern. (Anything past 6am until just before 11am just doesn't work at all and I feel physically ill and "disconnected" all day it is really weird).
My start times vary but I allow myself enough time to get 6hrs kip in, I often get the chance to nap at work so can get away with a bit less sleep during the night.
