what tune do you want played at your funeral?

It'd have to be Plug In Baby - not only because it's a decent song, but because it's the one all my friends and family remember me by as I used to play it 24/7 for about 3 years.

:o Its true. Even played it on the keyboards in Music in year 9 :(

Gorecki's Symphony of the Sorrowful Souls for me.

My father had Ride of the Valkyries blasting out of the house as his coffin was taken out and marched up the road to the cemetary. In the hamlet he lived, this was an eye opener to say the least.

He was an ex-Para btw.

Do You Realize?? - The Flaming Lips

I want people to look on from my funeral optimistically rather than sorrowfully, as this song promotes through the lyrics.

My Dad told me he wants REM - Everybody hurts played at his funeral.
I can't listen to the song without imagining it. It makes me well up :(

I think perhaps the fast food rockers would be an interesting send off. :p

hmm.. maybe Thoughts of a Dying Atheist by Muse
Or something to raise a smile maybe, such as Take Me Out by Franz Ferdinand :p
Followed by Obie Trice - Got Some Teeth for "wtf?" value :)

I Hope You Die by The Bloodhound Gang

Supagorgonizer by Iron Monkey

'Round Midnight by Thelonius Monk.

In that order.

For The Love Of God - Steve Vai, sends shivers up my spine just listening to it and all my family/friends would know me for it.

Oh, I also wanted Adagio for Strings when people were coming into the funeral and FTLOG before they left.

If people had long attention spans then Stranger in Your Soul - Transatlantic.

Otherwise it'd be Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd :)

(not that I plan on dying anytime soon)

maybe

Bob dylan - knocking on heavens door
radiohead - fake plastic trees
scissor sisters - return to oz

probably have to be eels - daisies of the galaxy

now there is a sad song

i don't want a funeral, but a 'life celebration' or a 'remembrance'
(i'm an atheist who still wants that post mortem attention)
i'm another who'd go for barbers adagio for strings, such a beautiful piece of music
but as well as that
hope there's someone by anthony and the johnsons
http://www.theworldofadam.com/hope.html
"Hope there's someone, Who'll take care of me, When I die, will I go?
Hope there's someone, Who'll set my heart free , Nice to hold when I'm tired"

PS You Rock My World by the Eels.

I spent the better part of my first uni year with my now wife listening to Eels albums. I couldn't believe how beautiful that song is. The strings are wonderful. It makes me want to cry just thinking about it.
