What TV shows are you currently watching

I'm not sure I managed to get to the end of S1 of SoA. Rather disappointed considering some people talk so highly of it. Everything seemed a little simple and convenient to me.

I'm not watching new BBC serial HMS woke/Vigil,
After 10minutes , coloured submarine captain, bi-sexual female dogmatic detective with mental problems,
melodramatic scenes - slipping on conning tower ladder, tears as body-bag conducted down submarine ..... is it a parody.
had never even dabbled in Line of duty apparently from same team

We've recently started X Files. For something that used to freak me out as a child I'm really enjoying it. Currently on episode 16 of season 1.

I just wish after all these episodes Scully would take Mulders wild claims seriously.

I stumbled across Missions on the BBC which is a French Sci Fi series where a team of people go to Mars.

Each episode is only 25 minutes long so I finished all of season 1 last night but I thought it was great.

I really do recommend it and has sensational opening titles and beautiful music.

+1 for Missions. It has a bit of Apollo 13, Contact, The Martian and Lost. Something for everyone.

Searched for Bodyguard, couldn't find anything on here about it. When i opened Netflix on my browser it gave the preview as my cursor was hovering, enticed me enough to search reviews on it, and reviews seem very favourable. So am going to give this a go shortly. It's a British short series from 2018, has been on TV, not that i watch TV really.

Bodyguard is a British political thriller television series created and written by Jed Mercurio and produced by World Productions as part of ITV Studios for the BBC. The six-part series centres around the fictional character of Police Sergeant David Budd (Richard Madden), a British Army war veteran suffering from PTSD, who is now working for the Royalty and Specialist Protection Branch of London's Metropolitan Police Service. He is assigned as the principal protection officer (PPO) for the ambitious Home Secretary Julia Montague (Keeley Hawes), whose politics he despises. The series comments on many issues regarding the controversy around government monitoring of private information and its regulation, and also on PTSD.[1]

The series began broadcasting on BBC One on 26 August 2018,[2] achieving the highest viewing figures for a new BBC drama in the multichannel era and the highest BBC viewing figures since 2008.[3][4] The BBC commissioned the series from the then-independent World Productions in 2016. Since ITV Studios Global Entertainment acquired the company in 2017, they have handled international distribution for the series.[5] Netflix agreed to a distribution deal to broadcast the show outside the United Kingdom and Ireland.[6]

The series was met with critical acclaim, particularly for Madden's performance.[7] The series received numerous award nominations including the Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Drama, with Madden winning the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Television Series Drama.[8] At the 71st Primetime Emmy Awards, the series was nominated for Outstanding Drama Series.[9]

Watched the whole episode, it’s turned into a brilliant comedy for me now.. best bit was watching the boats doctor attempt CPR :D

War of the Worlds on Disney+ Series 2 just watched Episode 7 which is basically the big reveal to the storyline.
Not sure how I feel about finally find out the why's and how's its such a big diversion from the original story. Enjoying it as its Sci Fi
but trying not to think of the gaping plot holes that are constantly there.

Just also read they have commissioned Series 3 which will be out 2022.

I just wish after all these episodes Scully would take Mulders wild claims seriously.

Long way to go but keep watching. ;)

I watched the first couple of series of X-Files but it didn't super grab me. I expected a lot more from such a highly regarded show. I would say maybe 3 episodes a season were really good but a lot were kind of dull episode of the week variety. It's also aged super badly, there is some quite amazingly awkward sexism (like Scully being kidnapped constantly and Mulder has to rescue her.) There was also one episode about rape which had 'believer' Mulder suddenly sceptical about the woman for the first time.
