What TV shows are you currently watching

After the recent hype, thought i'd give Succession a go, not sure how this has passed me by. glad it did mind as i've now got 4 seasons to watch, not to dissimilar to Billions but not quite as fast paced, finished s1 this week and a bloody good watch!

Just started watching Season 1 of Your Honor. Well my missus is enjoying it, but I'm just finding the whole thing totally far fetched. For starters I'm afraid Bryan Cranston is just forever typecast as Walter White and the idea of him playing a judge, albeit a slightly skewed one, doesn't quite gel. The character of his son is frankly farcical - if he is that bad with asthma and not quite all there mentally then he shouldn't have been driving the car in the first place. If we are supposed to like or empathise with the two main characters who quite happily stand by and watch an innocent youth
get arrested and subsequently murdered in remand prison by the brother of the lad Cranston's son actually ran over
, not happening here!
And the next episode looks as if the son is making a play for the sister of the guy he killed.
Oh and the New Orleans Police Department are painted as incompetent racists who think nothing of torturing suspects to get a confession.
Hopefully it will improve but the premise and denouments just seem rather ludicrous.

I'm trying to get in to this Afterglow series, its in Norwegian, and on the BBC (full series on iplayer).

Norwegian is taking some getting used to on my ears. But apparently its supposed to be the easiest of the Scandinavian languages English speakers can learn.

The series has subtitles.

Britain's Got Talent 2023.

Don't really watch this but it's caught my eye this year, been some brilliant acts. Final is on now on ITV.

This girl is insane, I don't get emotional much but this is something else..

I see people posting this sort of thing and tbh I think that's a you issue, not a casting issue. I've seen Bryan Cranston in other things and it's fine. He's a great actor.

I started this recently too... S1 and 2 were good, s3 feels like it took a nose dive.

S8 of Inside No 9 - pretty poor tbh :(

Cheap twists and the only decent episode was the final one. Although, do we really believe someone would take it up the bum for 9 years for 'revenge'?

Strangest sentence i've wrote, especially if you haven't seen the episode

I finished Strike Back, it was never great and managed to tail off when they changed the main characters around S4 or S5, but was a reasonable watch. I give it credit for killing reasonably main characters from time to time to keep you on your toes. The other thing I give them credit for is explained on IMDb -

Before the second series, main cast members took up intensive bootcamp style training in South Africa by former SAS and SBS operators. Sullivan Stapleton and Philip Winchester underwent the most intensive training. The actors were trained in many aspects including running, teamwork, tactical manoeuvres with and without weapons and other various military tactics.

I just started S2 of Perry Mason, with Matthew Rhys. 2 eps in and enjoying it.

Been watching HBO's Reprisal staring Abigail Spencer. About a woman wronged who sets to get revenge. Actually better than I thought it was going to be.

It doesn't seem to know which era it's set in though. They have old Motorola flip style phones hinting at early 2000s, but then they all dress like it's the 60/70s, the vehicles are from that era, and they still have rotary dial telephones. It's a bit Candy meets Riverdale (ugh I hate that show).

Decent amount of violence, and an unexpetect laugh here or there.

Gets an IMDB rating of 7.4/1, I'll be generous and give it a 7.

Finished watching FUBAR last night. It won't win any awards as it has a pretty weak story and some weak acting but.... It has Arnie!!

Everyone should watch it just for him as he's a Legend. That's it and that'll all!

Part way through S2 of From, enjoying it so far, does have a bit of a Lost feel to it. Also been watching Silo, bounced most of it and upto date on it now, also pretty good

Finished Love & Death, choosing the Lizzy Olsen version of the story over the Jessica Biel one.

Pretty cool, might look in to Mrs Davis next, could be fun.

Courtesy of the free five months and one week trial (thanks Apple), currently watching, and thoroughly enjoying Slow Horses on Apple TV+.

I'd never heard about this, bloody great show!
